My self-summary

Well, it's hard to figure out where to start this. I mean, what do you say? What's the first line a girl should say that makes someone stop and say, "Wow, I'd really like to get to know her!" Well, until I find my witty opening lines, I guess I'll just jump right into it...
I'm 21 years old. I work as an assistant teacher in a preschool, which is pretty much the cutest job I've ever had in my life. Before that, I worked as a counselor at a residential treatment program for adolescents which I still work relief shifts for. It's definetely a different world working with 3 year olds, rather than at risk teens, but I enjoy both jobs in a lot of ways. However, I must say that I am a bit happier and don't have the world's weight on my shoulders now that I'm not working full time at the program. I also work part time as a barista at Starbucks, and I have about 4 classes left before I am graced with my BA in Psychology and Human Services.

I was born and raised in the North Shore of Boston and have been living in Brighton for the past year. When not working at one of my jobs and not waist deep in homework, I can usually be found spending time with my friends, whether they are my close hometown friends that I've known since grade school, or my new friends that I have gotten to know through my jobs. Spending time with them can mean anything from dancing at a club with my girls, grabbing a casual drink at a smaller bar, catching a movie, going out to dinner, or enjoying the fall festivities of Salem and what not.
I like to read, nap, shop, catch Red Sox games, travel, swim (used to swim competitively), and pretty much always up for something new to do. I also have a new kitten who is pretty much the coolest cat ever.

A little insight on me...I'm loyal, almost to a fault, extremely sarcastic, hard working, and fairly determined when it comes to achieving the goals I set for myself. I am generally easy going, and like to surround myself with people I care about as often as possible, but love making new friends as well. There's other character traits that I COULD take the time to list out, but would rather not at this moment.

What I'm doing with my life

I'm an assistant preschool teacher and soon to be college grad. As soon as that is completele, I'll move on to the next big plan I create for myself.

I'm really good at

Making a great cappucino (it takes some talent, let me tell you!), cooking, getting things done, being a good friend, listening and giving advice, swimming the 100yard backstroke, dressing nicely, and firing off one-liners.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I usually got complimented on my hair or clothing choice first.

Other than that, people usually notice that I constantly have a coffee cup in my hand, and that I'm usually in a rush to get somewhere else.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:

The Lovely Bones, Something Borrowed, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I will add more soon.

Movies:

Say Anything, The Breakfast Club, The Departed, Mystic River, Knocked Up, Seven, John Q, Remember the Titans, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Day, You Me and Dupree, Love Actually, Closer, Gone Baby Gone, The Dark Knight, 16 Candles, Wedding Crashers, The Break up, Shawshank Redemption. I will continue this list soon.

Music:

A lot of different things. Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, Straylight Run, Jack's Mannequin, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keyes, Timbaland, Yellowcard, The Ryan Montbleau Band, All American Rejects, Rilo Kiley, New Found Glory, 3 Doors Down, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, Journey, Damien Rice, Matt Nathanson, Carrie Underwood, Jason Mraz, Jimmy Eat World, No Doubt, The Calling, The Postal Service.

However, I also can listen to pretty much anything on the radio. I'm not very picky.

Oh, and just because I'm into supporting local bands, especially if they are my friends. I like Letterday. ;)

TV:

LOST is amazing, I live for the 3 months that they have shortened the season into.
I also like House, Grey's Anatomy, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Food:

Mexican is my favorite. But I also like Thai food, and some Italian food. I don't eat red meat and people love to give me a hard time about that...

The six things I could never do without

Friends, Family, Love, Affection, Laughter, and Coffee. :)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What the hell I'm doing with my life.
What and who is important in my life.
Most importantly, what and who is NOT important in my life. It took some time figuring this out.

On a typical Friday night I am

Well given that I finally have weekends off, this is a lot more fun to answer.
Friday nights, more often than not, usually means that I'm out with my friends dancing, having a couple drinks, and catching to have some fun at the end of the long week.
I also like to have low key nights which could mean anything to just a simple dinner and a movie thing, seeing some family, or cuddling up on the couch with take out and Blockbuster.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

Not about to let anything too private out in the internet, but thanks anyway.

You should message me if

You want to, you're a decent conversationalist, and you're not a jerk.

Also, if you can make me laugh and are great at giving hugs. ;)
