Jour-nal? What is jour-nal?

Yeah, so even though I like writing and junk, I've never bothered to post to this journal before. Methinks it is time to change such things. The question becomes what to write about. I think I'll choose.... something I'm excited about... NaNoWriMo!!! For all you normal people out there, that stands for National Novel Writing Month. So much fun. I kind of did it last year except for the part where my writing buddy got bored of it and, seeing as my computer was at her house, I didn't get much writing done after about day 6 which is really a shame. I had such a good idea and now the book may never get finished. Maybe I'll write another one this year in the same world and then get back to the original one eventually. Anyway, an explanation of what this thing actually is is probably in order. It's very simple - the masterminds behind this project thought it would be great to challenge people to write a novel of at least 50,000 words in one month, the month in question being November. They could have been nice and at least chosen a month with 31 days, but I thank my lucky stars that they didn't choose February. I don't have an idea yet as such, but that's okay. By this time last year, I don't think I'd even heard of NaNo, much less had time to come up with my awesome ghost story idea. Seriously, it was the awesomeness. A ghost messiah, how much cooler can you get? I even had a plot twist. Twisty plot!

I have full confidence in my ability to come up with another idea though. I mean, I spend so much time lost in thought you'd think that I'd find something interesting there at some point. I like to think I'm a creative person. Maybe I'll attempt erotic fiction this time. It's hard to imagine myself writing a porn that lasts 50,000 words. I think I'll keep the porn to short stories and have my NaNovel be something I'd be proud (or at least willing) to show my parents.
