I was born and raised in Kansas City, although someday I would like
to live somewhere else. A couple years ago I graduated from UMKC
and entered the working world. I've had pretty much the same group
of friends since high school, some since elementary. I love
traveling, but rarely get the opportunity. Lately, work has been
dominating my life, but I'm striving to not become a workaholic.
It's very hard to describe myself, partially because I feel like
I'm always changing, my likes and dislike, philosphies, etc. The

What I'm doing with my life
I'm a software engineer at a healthcare IT company. Trying to hatch
an escape plan from my corporate servitude. I've been thinking
about going to grad school, maybe business school, but haven't
committed to it yet.
I'm really good at
Playing pool, poker, guitar hero, math, sleeping, cooking scrambled
eggs, accomplishing goals and tennis(good...well, maybe good for a
6th grader).
In the interest in fairness, here are a few things I'm bad at:
Picking out gifts, saying the right thing, losing, writing, I'm actually not that bad but I'm never happy with what I've written, I've already rewritten this sentence four times now.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Hmmm...books, well this is embarassing, I don't read enough to
really declare my favorites. The last fiction I read was Echo Park,
a detective story, it was pretty good.
As far as movies, here are a few of my many, many favorites in no particular order: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Royal Tennenbaums, Rushmore, Kingpin, King of New York, Requiem for a Dream, the Bourne Movies, Big Trouble in Little China, Dark City, Labyrinth, Indiana Jones (Not the new one, don't get me started on that.)
I must be stuck in the past because my favorite music is mostly classic rock or 90's alternative, here is a tiny sampling: Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Hot Hot Heat, Death Cab For Cutie, Soundgarden, The Allman Brothers, The Who, Eric Clapton/Cream, The Kinks, The Beatles. I like most other stuff too, the only things I can't stand are christian rock, christian rap, brain-dead rap, and contemporary country(I like the old stuff).
I love Mexican, Italian, and Chinese food, however my diet consists mainly of frozen pizzas, cereal, and Taco Bell. Don't judge me. I won't eat seafood, or actually anything that lives in or spends most of its time in the water.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. How can I make a mark in the world? Do I need to make a
mark in the world? I think about starting all over somewhere else.
Learning a foreign language. Hopefully I'm going to be going to
Vienna this summer, so I've been thinking a lot about that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Decompressing, from a work week that was too long and too hard, and
maybe not even over. Drinking beer at the 75th St. brewery with my
friends. Unfortunately that's the only night I get to see some of
them.
