My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I try to be cool, but I'm kinda a nerd. I love reading, science, working out, learning for learning's sake, video games(table top, too for that matter), movies, and hiking.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Graduated from UCLA with a degree in psychology... now I'm just looking for my place in a new town. I worked for an e-commerce company for a year after graduating, now I'm in the Coast Guard.

I enjoy learning/reading, listening to music, hanging out with friends, riding my motorcycle, video/computer games, working out, going on random adventures and picking up various crafts/skills (EG: woodworking). I love film. I want to get into photography(as a hobby). I love learning.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Quoting films at appropriate (and inappropriate) times.

Finding the best .gif to send to my friends on any given subject.

Returning video tapes. See what I mean about making inopportune film references? Who references Patrick Bateman on a dating site? Poor life choices, I tell you.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Film: I really like the following directors: Christopher Nolan, Edgar Wright, Scorsese, Kubrick, Tarantino, Aronofsky, Coppola and David Fincher (Fight Club, was at one time, both my favorite book and movie). The original trilogy of Star Wars has always been a favorite (Episode V is my personal favorite). I also have a fondness for zombie movies.

Music: Rock, Progressive Metal, Alternative, Folk, etc. My taste can be kind of eclectic, but to give you an idea, Tool is my favorite band.

Shows: Game of Thrones, Archer, Supernatural, The Walking Dead, House of Cards, Spaced and Always Sunny. Just started watching Breaking Bad.

Books: Yes. I love reading. I hope you do too. Fantasy/sci-fi/fiction, philosophy, science and non-fiction... all of it. Been on a Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris and Steven Pinker kick lately.

Food: Sushi is probably my favorite. Followed by pizza. If someone could make pizza sushi and make it not be disgusting? That'd be pretty cool.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A star filled night sky, laughter, intellectual stimulation, rainy weather, my motorcycle and good company.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The universe, cause and effect, human behavior.

...and zombies. ...and Batman. (Full disclosure, right?)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home, reading about something on the internet, working out, hanging out with friends or working on my latest project.

You're fun (but can still be mature) and generally follow the rules of grammar. You appreciate art and science, and can laugh about stupid things but also appreciate witty banter. Honesty is hugely important to me as well.

That being said, if you're a Young Earth Creationist or reject the evidence of evolution, we probably aren't going to get along. Sorry, it's nothing personal, though I'm impressed you read this far, if that's the case. Bravo.
