My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello there! My name is Ian, pleasure to meet your acquaintance. I'd like you to think of my profile as an introduction…on the computer? Currently living in the San Diego area and loving it. Some of my interests include cooking, fitness, trying new restaurants, movies, beer and cocktails, concerts (attending and performing), surfing and the beach, and pretty much anything with the right person or people.

I'm looking for someone who is kind, intelligent, compassionate, affectionate, outgoing, fun, has a good sense of humor, takes care of themselves both physically and mentally, and ideally is their own person and proud of it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I actually am using the two degrees in undergrad and my one masters I got for my job! It's a rare action these days I understand. I teach music (mainly guitar and bass, but also full rock bands) and perform in a guitar duo with my identical twin brother.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Guitar - yet that seems obligatory. I'd say also keeping things fun and entertaining. I like to say I am a "do-er," meaning I like to do things rather than just sit around and think about it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am an identical twin.

I'll keep it limited. This section could get long. I don't want you scrolling too much

Books - American Gods - Neil Gaiman, Guns, Germs, and Steel - Jared Diamond, The Catcher in the Rye - JD Salinger, and comic books/various novelizations

Movies - The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, the Avengers and extending Marvel Universe movies, LOTR, Bronson, Enemy of the State, The Godfather I and II, Dirty Harry, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Dumb and Dumber, Oblivion, so many more…

Shows- House of Cards, Dexter, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Arrested Development, Justified, the Simpsons, Seinfeld, Southpark, Arrow, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, lots of Documentaries (Science or nature are favorites), TED talks

Food- I love food. I love to cook. Mexican, Italian, Greek, BBQ, Cuban, Thai, American, Japanese, Afghan, coffee, beer, cocktails.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family
2. Friends
3. Some sort of fitness activity on a regular basis (whether it's concentrated like weight lifting or something for fun like surfing or hiking)
4. The ability to laugh, a good sense of humor and sarcasm
5. Music. Listening to it, learning it, analyzing, all parts of it's existence.
6. Learning new things. I know, it sounds really nerdy. But I get restless if I don't pursue something new every once in awhile.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My take on things. Psychopathic, or genius? Way off base, or insightful? I don't have the answer, but apparently I have a lot of opinions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm switching to Saturday (since Friday is tame because I work Saturday mornings). Usually being social in some way or another! I enjoy everything from having beers with friends and hitting the town, going to a concert, discovering a new hole in the wall, and more. I'd be happy just chilling, eating some good food, and marathoning some Netflix too.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I joined a dating website. But so did you. Gotcha there...don't I?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you are interested in meeting someone who considers themselves an optimist, enjoys life, and you aren't afraid to take that leap of "coffee" or a "meet-up date." And if I messaged you, you should definitely message me. I'm biased though.
