My self-summary
Check your stereotypes at the door! They don't apply here!

I'm an eternal student, a gamer, a nerd, a trance music addict, a classical music lover, a metalhead, a natural redhead, a sarcastic goofball (text is horrible in conveying it), a traveler, a sometime homebody, a lover of nature, a trivia junkie and a movie buff. I'm someone who likes to leave the world a better place than when I entered it.

I like to think of myself as being a nice, easygoing and sweet person, but I'm not afraid to speak my mind and stand up for myself when I need to. I can be quiet and shy when I first meet someone, but I open up quickly once we start talking. I'm very slow to anger and I prefer to solve my problems by talking them out rather than fighting. I love to laugh and have fun, but I do become serious when the time is right.

I'm currently looking for someone nice to spend time with who is somewhat similar to me, but different enough to keep things interesting. I hate drama, playing games and all of those horror stories guys tell about bizarre or irrational females, but I do value a person with depth. While I am eventually looking for a long-term relationship, it would be silly to stay focused only on that and miss out on friendships with other people.

Sound interesting? Send me a message and we'll talk!
What I’m doing with my life
I've recently graduated from college (majored in biology/biotech) and I'm in the process of finding a permanent job. I'm also taking classes from the local community college and online at Coursera with an eye toward entering a masters program for forensic science.
I’m really good at
Have to admit, it's hard to say that I'm good at something without thinking that I'm bragging. I like to think that I'm halfway intelligent and capable of carrying a good conversation. I am a gamer as I mentioned, and I'm pretty decent at it sometimes. I mostly play tabletop games as well as the computer. Skyrim is my addiction of choice at the moment.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm going to go beyond physical traits and hope people see my easy smile, my sense of humor and my sweet, caring, quiet nature. I'm always trying to make sure that the people I'm with are enjoying themselves.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Wow, my interests are so diverse, it's hard to list them!

For books, I tend to read fantasy, history, science, and so on. I'm currently working on Game of Thrones, the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire, but I'm also trying to get through the Dresden Files series. Some of my favorite things to read are the classics. I'm a Shakespeare nut, and I love folklore and mythology.

I'm all over the map on movies. I tend towards movies that aren't too low-brow, but aside from that, I span a lot of genres. Most of the stuff I watch is sci-fi/fantasy, historical fiction, foreign/independent, or whatever catches my eye. I do have a weakness for old and silent movies, too!

TV shows are similar to my movie tastes. I also add in science and history shows, along with some fun things like Grimm or Once Upon a Time. I'm in the process of watching Supernatural, just started season 3, and Doctor Who is on my list as well. Game of Thrones, of course, is a must.

Music is huge for me, but I really listen to almost anything. I most listen to rock, metal, classical, trance/electronic, Celtic, folk, classic rock and so on, but I'll try anything once.

Like most things, what food I eat really depends on my mood. I enjoy a lot of different cooking styles, and I'm working on being more adventurous after a childhood spent afraid to try new things. I have a lot of time to make up for! My brother is infecting me with a love for Italian food, since his girlfriend is from Milan. I make a mean caprese!

What self-respecting gamer wouldn't have a list of games they play? In terms of video games, I tend towards RPGs, and anything with a good story will catch my interest. A straight hack'n'slash is always good for stress relief, though! Among my favorites are Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Bastion, Portal and old NES games played on an emulator. I also go for tabletop games. I'm currently in a few roleplaying campaigns, and I love board games like Elder Sign, Arkham Horror, Settlers of Cataan, Ticket to Ride, Zombie Dice, Chrononauts, Dominion, and so on.

I'm also a huge history nerd, to the point where I've started getting involved in medieval re-enactment with the SCA. It's led me to begin reading books and watching films to help me learn about the time pre-1600, as well as begin experimenting with crafts and arts from that period. My current interest is in poetry, clothing and art from the Italian Renaissance.
The six things I could never do without
Hard to pick just six, but I'll try!

1. Good friends and family
2. Computer with internet and lots of games
3. Lots and lots of books
4. Nature
5. Learning new things
6. Good music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My mind jumps to so many different things that it's hard to pin down. I might be pondering some aspect of music at one point, and the next thing I know I'll be imagining what might happen if gravity were suddenly reversed. I sometimes surprise myself at how varied my thoughts can be.
On a typical Friday night I am
What I do depends on my mood for the most part. I might be at home, watching a movie, out at a concert, visiting friends, at the local game store, or whatever else catches my fancy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like to dance to music when I think no one's looking. I have no illusions that I'm any good at it, but I just can't help myself!

I also like to collect refrigerator magnets from places I've been to. I'm almost out of space! Suppose I should get a new fridge.

  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you're reading this far and haven't run screaming yet! I'm really just a nice girl looking for the right guy. No games, no drama, just hoping to spend time with someone.
