- I tend to go to a lot of concerts. Namely at Thee Parkside, Bottom of the Hill, or Slim's in SF. Blank Club in SJ. The Catalyst in Santa Cruz.
- Always love hiking
- Want to travel as often as possible. Next destinations hopefully involve either western South America or Scandinavia/Russia.
- Love the Giants, Sharks, 49ers, Oregon Ducks, and Syracuse Orange.
- I find "How it's Made" to be one of the most calming and intriguing shows on TV. It's like mental yoga.
- I have switched almost exclusively to e-books. The fact that it is much cheaper plays a large part in this decision. All things being equal, I would much rather read from a real book.
- I have a solid vinyl collection. About 90 records ranging from Bruce Springsteen to Alice Cooper, from Boston to NOFX.
- The Onion, Grantland, Taibblog, BoingBoing, Politifact, Longform, Slate, McSweeney's

I teach US and World History at a high school in San Jose. My philosophy to pretty much anything in history is being able to ask yourself, "Is it worth it?" That question alone tends to get me far in class discussions.
