My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First off I'm not sure what my profile says for how often I respond (someone fill me in on this!), but I'll try to answer all messages.

I'm a native New Englander that never picked up the accent, despite living in RI my whole life.

I love to learn whether it's in an actual course setting or just on my own in my spare time. I like to travel as well, but I don't often get the opportunity.

My sense of humor can either be classified as "amazing", "awful", or "amazingly awful". I can be pretty sarcastic, but that doesn't mean I'm not inherently sincere.

I'm pretty nerdy/geeky. I'm a gamer - I enjoy video games from all times of nearly all genres. I've admittedly never played D&D or other tabletop RPGs, but I enjoy board games when I have people to play them with (which seems to be almost never!).

I consider myself to be a fairly selfless individual and hold honesty in high regard. I'm very open minded; I have my interests, but I'm always curious about the interests of others. I'm a bit old-fashioned in some ways. Family is important and I've frequently been known to stand in the pouring rain just to hold a door for complete strangers.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently back in school finishing a CompSci degree, making new connections, and working on new projects in my spare time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, making people laugh and laughing at my own terrible jokes. I'm inadvertently amazing at breaking and then subsequently fixing anything technology related.

That I probably just made an entirely groan-worthy pun within moments of meeting them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I've been in a book drought recently, but I typically enjoy fantasy or sci-fi themed literature. I also dig Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, and H.P. Lovecraft, for what it's worth. Always up for suggestions.

I rarely ever watch TV these days, if I do watch a show it's typically in a marathon format. On the rare occasion I do watch TV, it's typically Discovery or Food Network.

Music: My tastes are varied. I'll listen to just about anything at least once as there's often more amazing music out there than just what my preferences lead me to. I tend to have an affinity for rock/metal/electronic/classical.

Food: I greatly enjoy italian food (heritage!) and just about anything that's home-cooked. I will eat quality breakfast food pretty much any time it's available. I like trying new restaurants and new food in general!

Video games: I enjoy nearly all genres short of sports (though there were some exceptions in the 8/16-bit eras). Action/Adventure, Platformers, and RPGs are my favorites. I have a soft spot for retro gaming, find myself playing old games just as often as new ones, and own a number of consoles from the NES on up. Lately I've been playing mostly small indie games on PC when I have the time.

Currently Playing:
Destiny (PS4)
Diablo 3 (PC)
Shovel Knight
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Video games
Post-it notes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. No, really. I'm always figuring out something in my head, whether it's trivial or critically important. My father had an inventor streak in him and I definitely picked that up.

Words. I like language and poor grammar bugs me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably doing something nerdy/geeky with friends, maybe going out to dinner, or working on a personal project.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I've always had a desire to be a writer or an artist (though to an extent, writers are artists), but all of my latent talent is in logical/mathematical/technological areas.

I was terrified of driving until I was 23, at which point I learned that not only am I not a bad driver, but I actually enjoy it. A lot. Whoops.
