I've never been particularly good at writing self-summaries or
about me sections on anything, but that's true of a lot of people.
My name is Stephanie and I'm currently a student at NMT, but I plan
on transferring to UNM next fall. The highlight of my week is
swing
dancing. Dancing is one of my favorite activities and I try to
take some sort of dance class each semester.
Despite the fact that I like dancing so much, I can be an
incredibly shy person. I'm not particularly good at approaching
people and I'm more comfortable when someone approaches me first.
Once I'm comfortable with someone I tend to come out of my shell so
much that I'm sure my friends wish I would shut up sometimes.

I was majoring in
Psychology but I found that I'd
rather be a language major. Once I transfer to UNM I'll most likely
be double majoring in
Spanish and
French, or Spanish and International
Relations, I haven't quite decided. Languages have always been a
passion of mine, and I love learning new ones.
I do actually have a life outside of school and it mostly involves
having fun with my friends. I love going out to lunch or dinner
with my friends, or getting a drink from Sonic and walking around
campus.
I'm a really good cook.
I'd like to think that I'm a good dancer, at least people tend to
ask me more than once.
I've been told that I'm a good singer, but my friends are
biased.
The subjects that I tend to do best in are subjects that don't have
precise answers. I absolutely love writing and do a fair bit of it
outside of the classroom. I enjoy Social Science classes, Foreign
Language classes, Biology and Human Anatomy classes, and Psychology
classes. The subjects that I'm worst at would be History and Math.
I'm not all too sure what the first thing people notice about me
is. I would hope it's that I have a nice smile or something
similar. But who knows? Maybe you can tell me.
My favorite movies include:
Boondock Saints, Spirited Away,
The Covenant, Pan's Labyrinth, Jim Hensen's
Labyrinth, Under the Same Moon, Edward
Scissor Hands, and From Hell. This list is obviously incomplete,
but I'd rather not sit here and try to remember all of them.
My favorite books include: Almost anything that is either fantasy,
sci-fi, or fiction in general(and some things that aren't): Demon
in my View, The Giver, Princess Nevermore, the Protector of the
Small series, The Harry Potter series, The Sweep series, Devil's
Highway, The Bloody Jack Series, To Kill a Mockingbird,
etc...
My favorite music includes various artists from most genres. The
genres that are rarely found in my collection are mostly rap and
country music. While I do enjoy the occasional song from both, they
aren't my favorites.
To give a few specifics: Kerli, Spill Canvas, Sublime, Snow Patrol,
Ludo, Muse, We the Kings, The Academy Is..., The Medic Droid,
Paramore, Korn, Disturbed, Metro Station, Boys Like Girls, Forgive
Durden, Seether, The Horror Pops, etc.
My favorite foods are mostly Mexican and Italian in origin. I'm a
somewhat picky eater, but I'm always able to find something to
satisfy my tastes in most restaurants. I've never had sushi, so I'm
unsure as to whether or not I'd like it, actually the same goes for
most oriental food.
The six things I could never do without are: my friends, my family,
my laptop, my portable hard drives, my music, and my
glasses/contacts (I'm extremely near-sighted.).
I spend a lot of time thinking about the future and where my life
is going to take me. I spend a lot of time thinking about my goals
and how to reach them.
On a typical Friday night I am either out with a few of my friends
watching movies and generally enjoying ourselves or at home
enjoying a quiet evening and reading a book or three.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit? I don't know. If you
have a question that you're itching to know the answer to then ask
me. I'll likely answer it.
You should message me if you feel like getting to know me, if I
pique your interests, or if you're just bored. You should message
me if the word feminist doesn't scare you, because I happen to be
one. Don't be afraid, I don't bite... without permission.
You shouldn't message me if you're not capable of using vowels in
your messages. You also shouldn't message me if you capitalize
every other letter.
