My self-summary
I'm a artsy news junkie, journo muckraker, producer, painter, pirate, procrastinator, polyglot, migrant labourer and post-modern renaissance clown. I relish a good debate about politics and geopolitics. I love bicycles, wry humour, Scotch, adventure, imagination, rebelliousness, intelligence and eccentricity.
What I’m doing with my life
Just moved to SF from Montreal (my hometown) after several years of living in London, New York, Port-au-Prince, Dublin, and Paris. The Bay Area is totally enchanted and I hope to stay here as long as possible. Most days I drink too much coffee (and wine) musing upon how to expose, in an aesthetically and narratively compelling manner, the causal connection between abuses of power and underdogs being screwed. I like to tell stories with images, love drawing people's portraits and would have maybe been a war artist sketching in the trenches, if such a profession still existed.
I’m really good at
flying by the seat of my pants, bantering, disarming people, reading maps, navigating foreign cities, being cheeky, drawing portraits, learning languages, dancing, making the best of shit situations, fantasizing my life into existence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Samuel Beckett, George Orwell, Philip Roth, cappuccino, Kafka, Martha Gellhorn, Scotch, Sachmo, Django, Andrei Tarkovsky, David Lynch, cashews, Caravaggio, The Guardian, NYTimes, almond butter, Fellini, Jodorowsky, Joseph Bueys, Polanyi, maple syrup, Middlemarch, Francis Bacon, Goya, Karl Marx, Karl reMarks, Rembrandt, papaya, Sigmund & Lucian Freud, Spinoza, Haitian lambi, Chianti, David Hume, Plato, Paprika, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, John Keats, Nina Simone, Satie, Sancerre, Ed Snowden, Ali Farka Toure, thai green curry, de Tocqueville, panforte, David Graeber, Bela Tarr, Bon Iver, Degas, Nick Davies, The Daily Show, PBS Frontline, Al Jazeera Fault Lines, trail mix, Primo Levi, Laphroaig, coconut water, Wittgenstein, Walter Benjamin, black current anything...
The six things I could never do without
Friends, coffee, cunning, curiosity, justice, adventure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to uncover the truth and turn tedious research, obscure facts, and raw human experience into a riveting, informative and aesthetically compelling story that touches the cynical and brainwashed.

How to make a living doing what I love. How to live dangerously.
On a typical Friday night I am
Improvising an epic good-time, which usually involves aesthetics, polemics and insobriety with friends.
