My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hmmmmm . . . let's see . . . what to say? I'm divorced and have two wonderful young daughters. I'm a lawyer with my own practice and a realtor. I'm from LI originally, but have lived in the DC area for nineteen years.

I'd like to think I'm a smart, funny, friendly, all around nice guy. I I believe that life should be an adventure. I appreciate simple things but am by no means a simple person. I'm very social and get along with everyone, but appreciate my alone time.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm doing my best to be a good man and live s good life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a Dad, fixing things, killing spiders, cooking, and listening, among other things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told my blue eyes.

One of my favorite nonfiction reads, which I keep going back to and would highly recommend, is Thich Nhat Hanh's Miracle of Mindfulness. It will give you a whole new approach on living life. I read a lot more fiction, though, and my current favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Michael Chabon and Chuck Palahaniuk. I read Zone One by Colson Whitehead awhile back and highly recommend as a really well written literary take on the post apocalypse zombie genre. Highlights from my reading list from the last year also include Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, Kraken by China Mieville, The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell, and Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. I just started The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.

With TV, I'm perpetually catching up on The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones and been rewatching the last two seasons of The X-Files. I'm a fan of the Welcome to Nightvale podcast - it's creepy, strange and very cool. With movies, I'm all over the place, although lately I've been watching mindless action stuff. With music, I've been introducing my older (9yo) daughter to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, but I've also been on a big Fugazi kick. As for sports, I like hockey and soccer and follow the NY Islanders, DC United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Other than my girls, there's not a lot that I couldn't do without if it really came down to it. What would I rather not do without? My iPhone and MacBook, books & music, good beer, and single malt scotch.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The vagaries of life's paths and where they lead us. That, and what I'm going to cook next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Often having dinner out with my girls, and if not, then maybe cooking something tasty and enjoying dinner and a movie with them at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like my bourbon on the rocks but my scotch near. Seriously? I've answered a lot of very private questions here on OKC, but if there is something you want to know, just ask.
