My Notes edit

My self-summary

I'm new to the state, so I'm kinda just trying to find myself in all of this noise. I'm really shy but I tend to warm up quickly. I'm easy going most of the time. I make jokes when I'm nervous, with the shyness factor that happens to be a lot.

I'm at that point in my life where I'm trying to take things a little more seriously than before. I'm trying to buckle down and get more of my poetry published, and finish one of the books I've been writing for the past 2 or 3 years.

I'm trying to find someone I can have a normal relationship with. The kind where you can sit on the couch watching a movie together, just enjoying one-another's company. I've had a bad streak of dating immature girls who want that life of never ending excitement that just doesn't exist outside of the walls of high school. I like to have fun just as much as everyone else but I can have fun with a few friends just hanging out, I'm not saying I don't like to go out but . I can't stand the weird control issue fights that these people consider normal.

The truth is I am the nice guy and that comes with a few drawbacks. I consider the peace of mind it brings me to be the benefit.

What I'm doing with my life

I currently am wasting away in the wasteland that is the food service industry as a restaurant manager. I went to college to be a chef and I'm good at it. Unfortunately I have recently decided that I am miserable doing it for a living. I moved to Nashville in hopes of finding a better job that will give me time to go back to school and change my career path. All the while, I am increasing my volume of works I'm sending out trying to get published. I always hoped my poetry would catch on enough that I could write full time. Most writers live poor but I'm a firm believer that happy and fulfilled is better than rich and numb.

I'm really good at

I am an amazing cook. I would say a good writer, but writing, as with any other art, is completely dependent on the individual reader's opinion not the authors.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I would assume my glasses, although I base this solely on the fact that when I meet someone wearing glasses it's the first thing I notice. It might also be the fact that I have one dimple.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Well I love movies. I'm a big fan of comedies as long as they are not terrible like those "Not Another ..." movies. Horror movies are my fav, but I also like dramas and art movies. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Closer, Army of darkness, night of the living dead, the salton sea, and on and on I could list movies I love all day but I'm sure you get the point.

I love poetry in all shapes and forms with a few exceptions. Charles Bukowski is my favorite but there are so many more. I like Stephen King (that is not a cop out answer I really do.)

I have a huge area of music I like. Metal and rock are my favorite but I like all kinds of music. I also have a soft spot for classic rock. I like classical music I do not prefer one composer to the next I try to judge a particular work on it own. I definitely would rather listen to strings and woodwinds vs horns and percussion. I enjoy live jazz but I don't usually listen to it recorded. Jazz to me always seemed better when it's natural. The Blues are awesome. Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters are my personal favorites. I'm not big on rap or country although I don't mind older country like Johnny Cash]] or [Willy Nelson.

When it comes to food, I could never run out of options. I enjoy all nationalities styles of food. I'm a big fan of meat of any kind (sorry vegetarians if you can't deal with it. I tolerate you why can't PETA return the favor)

The six things I could never do without

This question confuses me. I mean, really I could make due without just about anything besides food and water. A lot of people say things like music and computers and their I-pod or whatever. I just don't get it. A lot of what people list is escapeist stuff. Could you really not due without that stuff? If someone dropped you on a deserted island in the middle of the ocean with nothing but food and water, you couldn't handle just laying on the beach and enjoying yourself? Would you run around reenacting battles from world of warcraft with coconuts?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Will anyone read this question and wonder why I posed it, simply with the intent of further pondering if said individuals exists that would ponder my pondering of their museings or brush it off with no thought at all leaving me simply to wonder why?

If the universe is in fact expanding at an exponentially increasing speed, than the possibility of space travel from galaxy to galaxy actually is decreasing at the same rate. So in theory by the time the technology is available the distance will have increased to such a distance as to make it impossible once again.

If art is completely subject to individual opinions and one of those opinions is that art is not subject to opinion, would art simply cancel itself out of existence and just become meaningless creations floating through our reality?

On a typical Friday night I am

working, writing, out wondering aimlessly, searching for a better beer and/or wine, sitting somewhere writing poems about random people I see

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I hate my name. I don't know why. I just always have.
I tear up when I watch the sad parts of movies.
My brain is constantly over-analyzing everything. It is both a curse and a source of amusement for people who know me.
