My Notes edit

My self-summary

This profile needs an overhaul. Here goes:

I am all of the following, in no particular order: A runner. An outfielder/pitcher. A fan of music, movies and baseball. A Wii enthusiast. An (occasional) card shark. An (even more occasional) drinker. A fast eater (not Kobayashi fast, but fast enough that my friends often say, "Damn, Noah, how can you eat so fast?"). A print and graphic designer, but that's just to pay the bills. An unwavering liberal, although I am a little insulted that one of the most repeated criticisms of Sarah Palin is that she has a journalism degree. :(

I am a nice guy, easy to get along with, and living for the moment. I treat people with respect and expect the same in return. If this sounds interesting to you, you should hit me up. I'm on the AIM (NoahASU) quite a bit.

What I'm doing with my life

For my first four years after college, I designed newspaper pages at the East Valley Tribune. With the industry tanking, I decided to make a change, and I just started a similar position with a furniture wholesale company in Phoenix.

I manage a coed softball team. We have good nights and bad nights, but we enjoy ourselves.

I ran my first half-marathon in January, and I'm about to start a training program for the P.F. Chang's full marathon this coming January, now that it's finally starting to cool off. I'm shooting for 3:45, but we'll see.

In addition, I know how to throw a pretty good Wii party, and I am a certified Guitar Hero.

I'm really good at

Being appreciative. Relating to people. Adapting to change. Driving long distances without stopping. Communicating visually. Hitting home plate with an underhand pitch.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I like to think I exude a quiet confidence. There was a time in my life when I didn't think I could be good at anything. Those days are over.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The six things I could never do without

The calm that a good CD by one of my favorite bands brings me; an indoor track during the Arizona summer; good friends around whom I don't have to choose my words carefully; the desire to excel at every task I undertake; the bliss of not having a roommate; Better Cheddars.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How long it would take me to move to Manhattan if I won the lottery tomorrow. But that's sort of pie-in-the-sky, don't you think? I think a lot about how a pretty girl looks in high heels. Honestly, there is nothing more attractive in the world.

On a typical Friday night I am

During softball season, I'm on the field or at a bar after the game. But after that ends, I'm down for anything. Movie? Laid-back watering hole? Mario Kart Wii? Your call.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

One time, I met a woman on OKCupid who turned out to have a penis. True story! I'll tell you about it some time if you want. (I should specify, because so many people have asked about this, that I didn't actually meet this person. I talked to him/her a few times online, and eventually it came up. In a manner of speaking.)

Also, I don't enjoy long phone conversations. I think talking on the phone, in general, is abominable. I'd much rather converse in person.

You should message me if

You find me interesting. You are interesting. You're easy to talk to, and you feel like we'd have a good rapport.

You live nearby and you're open to (eventually) meeting me in person (Internet-only friendsies doesn't do a lot for me).

You're not obviously trying to hide some aspect of your physical appearance in the photos you've posted. Everyone's attractive in their own way, but if you can't advertise yourself honestly on here, I'm not interested.

You're not offended by occasional bad language, you don't think I'm going to hell, and you're OK with me playing softball with a bunch of other women. (I would invite you to play as well, but I've already had a lousy experience with that, so perhaps it's best to keep the two worlds separate. You're always welcome to spectate and join us for beers after, though.)

You're OK with going to Chase Field and booing the home team when the Cubs come to town.

If you're interested in being my running buddy, that's a bonus.
