Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in a small town outside of Boston and moved to California
four years ago right after college. Very much a New Englander at
heart, but I feel at home here in the Bay Area too.
Environmental causes are really important to me and so far I've
focused my education and work around energy usage. I really liked
Captain Planet when I was growing up and I guess haven't
I'm very much an extrovert, and enjoy the outdoors, all Boston
sports, good puns, coming up with fitting names for things, and
making people laugh. In friends and relationships, I really value
kindness, sense of humor, a love of nature, and spontaneity.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a wonderful job in downtown Oakland, working on creating
energy efficient and affordable buildings.
It's been 4 years in California, but I still can't shake the habit
from growing up with Boston seasons to make the most of it when the
weather is nice. I also like rock climbing and try and climb with
friends indoors a couple days each week.
Over the past year I've been teaching myself guitar, and I'm
finally getting the point where I can hold my own when playing with
other people. I'm very excited about this.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Photography, rock climbing, kayaking, working with my hands, math,
baseball, story-telling, making appetizers with cheese*,
*not sure if I'm actually good at this, or if it's that I
exclusively make appetizers with cheese
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm usually laughing or have a camera in front of my face.

Music: Wilco, Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Old Crow Medicine Show,
Iron & Wine, Foo Fighters, Neil Young, The Shins, Smashing
Pumpkins. I like mostly anything, but just to put this out there -
I'm really not into the EDM thing, to be honest.
Books: Two of my favorites I've read recently are The Amazing
Adventures of Cavalier & Clay and The Brief Wondrous Life of
Oscar Wao. One of my all time favorites is Ursula Le Guin's Earth
Sea series. And, full disclosure: total Harry Potter fan.
TV is good. I usually like comedies and I'll always watch an
episode of Parks and Rec. That being said I finished True Detective
Season 1 recently and it was phenomenal.
I don't watch as many movies as I should. I'll watch any movie that
isn't overly gory or horror.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family & Friends (I'd hope everyone would put these two)
Burritos (I'm serious)
I wouldn't want to have to go without good IPA's either, but I
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Honestly, more than I'd like to admit, it's what I'm going to eat
next. That and flip flopping between wanting to get a dog
immediately and reminding myself that I should wait a few years. Oh
and day dreaming about traveling to beautiful places I see in
photos. Most recently I've been fixating on South America.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends sharing a beer or two after a long work
week, or heading out on a hiking/camping trip for the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I actually still really enjoy collecting rocks and shells at the
