My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a geek girl, who likes comics, scifi, fantasy and other geeks. I also have a passionate love of college football (SEC all the way!), baseball and professional cycling. I have random tastes.

I spend a huge chunk of time reading middle grade novels and picture books for work because I'm a children's librarian. I am super up to date on what's popular with the average 4 year old. Grown-ups? Well, I have seen adult books in the past year, does that count?

I'm an introvert and yet I've chosen to work in a public sphere, possibly because I'm a glutton for punishment?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a children's librarian. Which means I spend a good portion of my day being a rock star to the under 3 set.
I've started running somewhat recently. Ideally I'd like to run a 5K in the fall and a 10K next spring.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Never being serious.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My laugh. It's loud and I laugh easily.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

This means my "favorite" thing doesn't change as often as I change my socks. My favorite book? I have a lot, but ones I can go back to over and over would be Good Omens by Gaiman and Pratchett and A Wrinkle in Time by L'Engle.

My favorite super hero is Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers is my hero)
I'm a Marvel girl but I'm reading a lot of Image stuff right now as well. Sex Criminals and Pretty Deadly are my two new favorites. Really I feel like I'm building the DeFraction kids' college fund.

I'm not watching a huge amount of tv lately, which is weird for me. I like kind of typical slightly geeky shows, Sleepy Hollow, Stargate, Teen Wolf (yes Teen Wolf it's my secret shame). Justified, Community. A random Canadian sitcom called Corner Gas.

If I'm not listening to the radio, I've been listening to a lot of Athens, GA based bands lately. I used to live there and I've been missing that sense of place. So a lot of Soul Miner's Daughter, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Some REM, some B52s.
I love this trend of banjos in everything. There's nothing a banjo can't make sound better.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Television, books, my friends, my family, the internet and clothes, I guess. I'm having trouble thinking of a sixth thing, and I don't really want to be naked all the time. I'd need a lot of sunscreen and I didn't names sunscreen as one of my six things. Damn it I should have put "sunscreen" instead of "friends".

Is it bad that I put television before my family? This really isn't a list in order of importance. It's not like I think tv is more important than family. I mean certainly not Immediate family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What's next.

If you're kind of geeky or don't mind that I am. Or maybe you have a burning desire to talk about middle grade fiction. I don't know. I won't judge. Come say hi.
