My self-summary
I am happily (understatement) involved with polygirl_andrea, and we had a lovely baby together!

I'm not looking for additional partners right now, but new friends are always welcome :)

Might as well get these out of the way too...
¤ I'm mildly allergic to shellfish.
¤ I despise drug use(rs) and their incessant chattering about the good ole' high times.
¤ Grammar, people.. seriously. Put a little effort into your messages (and profile, too) please. Think about the sheer number of first impressions you are botching. :P
¤ Smoking cigarettes is a disgusting habit, and drinking alcohol (poison) is pretty dumb, but both are tolerable in moderation.

Ripped-off from assaultncattery's profile: "I am a creature of absolute honesty. If you're looking for someone mysterious or you want someone to chase, I'm not the person for you."

I'm not political, although ElynBeth lovingly calls me a "Liberal-tarian". I am also a sex-positive feminist *This is a biggie. If you can't figure out how a man can be a feminist then you might not want to message me*

I'm one of the most laid back people you'll ever meet, though this section of the profile makes me seem uptight, don't worry, it's a ruse.

To sum up: I'm interested in meeting fun, intelligent members of the human race, or close facsimiles thereof.

I am clever, sweet, and always happy
What I’m doing with my life
I'm looking for another job while I work on my BA. I finished my AA and am getting a Computer Programming degree to go along with it right now.

My long term goals include teaching English as a second language in Thailand (once I finish a BA program here). Or I may try to get into video game design.

I'm a geek of all trades, master of few. I'm very interested in Psychology, Philosophy, Rhetoric, Physics, Advanced Mathematics, Logic, and Science.
I’m really good at
Computers (you name it, I've probably done it - and got paid for it, too).

I love pleasing people.

The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told that I have sexy lips and eyes, as well as a nice posterior profile. People also seem to like the beard a lot (I know I love it).

After that it's my sense of humor, my confidence, and my laid-back attitude.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Douglas Adams "H2G2", "Last Chance to See", Flowers for Algernon, Bruce Campbell's autobiography "If Chins Could Kill", Daniel Quinn's "Ishmael", any of David Sedaris' works, "Freakanomics".

Movies: Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Six-String Samurai, Clerks, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Ghost World, Donnie Darko, Shaun of the Dead, SLC Punk, Devil's Rejects, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Buckaroo Banzai, Murderball, The Royal Tenenbaums, A Clockwork Orange, Evil Dead 1 & 2, Fight Club, Velvet Goldmine, H2G2, Magnolia, Buffalo '66, Leon: The Professional, Labyrinth, Blow, Spun, Trainspotting, Casablanca, Dark City, Team America, Tokyo Gore Police, Battle Royale, Suicide Club, everything by Quentin Tarantino, and all Monty Python Movies.

Music: Bloodhound Gang, Beck, Cake, Cibo Matto, The Cure, The Dead Milkmen, Reggie Watts, Gorillaz, Gnarls Barkley, Interpol, Joy Division, KMFDM, Meat Puppets, Misfits, Nobuo Uematsu, The Pixies, Richard Cheese, The Smiths, The Frogs, They Might Be Giants (TMBG), Weezer, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, XTC, TV on the Radio, Magnetic Fields, The Wedding Present, The Mountain Goats, Neutral Milk Hotel, King Missile, and MC 900 Foot Jesus.

Food: I adore Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern cuisines, and I'm willing to try anything at least once (although there isn't much left at this point that I haven't tried *at least* once).

Video Games (bonus category): I love my Wii: Rock Band 2 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are just about the only games I still play. And, of course Katamari Damacy. Also Metroid, Castlevania, and RPGs (no FF games > FFVI except FFXI and FFXIV).

My heroes (super extra bonus category): Douglas Adams, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Stephen Hawking.
The six things I could never do without
6. The Internet
5. A computer with a good video card (consoles work, too)
4. Socialization (I've only recently tried it, but I'm addicted)
3. Exotic food
2. Amazing Sex
1. Intelligent discourse
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Dichotomies.

Gender roles and gender expression..
..and why androgynous/trans/intersex people never hit on me.

Thailand, which got checked off my list of countries to visit four winters ago. I spent 27 days in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi with ElynBeth. It is a magnificent country, I recommend the trip to anyone with a pulse. I can't wait to go back on a more permanent basis.

Blogging, Indie Music, A new RPG to get addicted to.

On the topic of RPGs, when I say RPG I don't mean MMORPGs like WoW (World of Warcraft). First off, I do not really consider MMOs (or computer games in general) to be RPGs since the player doesn't have any real choices in the game. Also, I got to level 40 in WoW before I fully realized what a horrible timesuck the game was. If I wanted a second job I'd go work at Starbucks.

P.S. I got a job at Starbucks, and it *is* much better than WoW!

P.P.S. I got laid off at Starbucks, but I'm still not playing WoW!

My OKCupid Match Map: http://okcupid.com/z/cps
On a typical Friday night I am
Getting my friends together for gaming, movies, and eating out. Heading out to Speakeasy or The Whig to meet new friends.

Not much different from any other day of the week now that I think about it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a nerd. I run table-top Role Playing Games (RPG) :)

My favorite RPG systems (from best to worst): White Wolf (Werewolf, Vampire, Mage), Shadowrun (third edition, preferably), and AD&D (second edition, third+ only if I'm *really* bored). Some other RPGs I like include: Cyberpunk, Toon, Paranoia, and Call of Cthulhu.

I'd like to add more players to my gaming group here in Columbia. Send me a message if you are interested in joining a weekly Werewolf: The Apocalypse game on Friday nights (7pm - 11pm).

Oh, listed at the top of the page: I'm bisexual. I'm not confused about my orientation. I list it because I have been in relationships with men in the past, and because it scares away the homophobes. I'm far more interested in women than men at this point in my life, it's about 95/5. Anyway, I'm not nearly hot enough to be gay. ;)
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 21–100
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends
You should message me if
Want to get together for gaming? Like to talk about anything from physics to music, atheism to polyamory?

If you want to make a friend in the Columbia, SC area.

Thanks a *lot* for reading the whole thing. There is nothing worse than getting an email from a user that only bothered to look at my pictures, and then gets upset because I'm not what they expected.
