My self-summary
Fionna and PB combo searching for adventure, friendship, and excellent conversation.

I am fun, I like a wide variety of topics and adventures. I love bowling. I love Legos.

I have hiked and skied all over the Southwest. I have travelled and lived all over America. I am very strong, which makes me a formidable foe.

I got asked by my hairdresser if I have always been this happy and engaging. Yes. Yes I have.

I got asked recently if I have been anywhere interesting. I spent six months in a tent following the trail of the Anasazi shortly after my 18th birthday. Yes. I have been to a LOT of interesting places. I am not lying and/or exaggerating when I say Adventure.

I am honestly a good shot with many projectile weapons. I have hunted and killed mammals and fishes...usually field dressed as well. I am not really into hunting anymore as I have taken up city life fairly thoroughly. I do get out for hikes at local national parks and rec areas.

Lots of people on the Interwebs claim they are nerds, so I will just claim I am a polymath who can do everything from shell scripting to SQL to DNS. I have played tapletop RPGs since before I was a teenager and my current gamer habits are the vidja games and board games (strategery and resource). If you don't understand those words, you're looking for a hipster, not a nerd.

I am not from the East Coast and I am definitely from the Main Line. I realize now that that may have put some people off. I grew up in a state that is going to change the entire vice industry.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, hollering, loving life. Bowling. Schooling. Making normal people do role-playing. Making lives better.

Engaging with people.

Hiking.

Making robots. Destroying worlds in my mind.

Having adventures!

I am getting back into my old active ways. For a while there I was super focused on my business so neglected my physical self. As of May, my first month, I have lost twenty pounds and plan on losing a lot more. My goal has been two to three pounds a week...lots of working out and eating awesome salads.
I’m really good at
Cooking and baking, user experience, engaging with people, crafts, throwing parties. Travel. Painting, conversating, making up words. Pattern matching and ontologies.

Manipulating time and space. Blowing up peoples' expectations.

Adventure! Liking inanimate objects! Anthropomorphization! Huge words! Surreality!
The first things people usually notice about me
I am engaging, tall and pretty. I have an unnerving confidence that is disconcerting for people who don't know me.

I once had a friend claim she thought I totally hated her when we first met. I am hyper-analytical at times and I just think she caught me on a day where I was being thoughtful and introverted, which happens when I am thinking about a logic problem.

I am generally wicked friendly and kind, and random strangers always seem to think I am an authority in whatever context I am in, so I get asked questions...ie. if I am on a university campus, I will get asked if I am a professor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I will listen to basically anything edgy/loud/poppy/energetic/rocking. I do like classical and opera. I don't like new country. Favorite bands right now include Interpol and Nine Inch Nails, a perennial favorite. I am in love with Yolandi Visser.

I am a classically trained musician in a few wind instruments and percussion, but I haven't played in years. I sang in several different choirs for about ten years as a kid.

I am not big into television, I honestly have lived most of my life without cable. I recently acquired the cables for entertaining my roomate, and find that I do like BBC America mostly...Top Gear, Doctor Who, etc. I also like Grimm and Supernatural and find that seasons in television are super short.

I love comedies and explosions. Anything but drama, because ain't nobody got time for that.

I build my own food. I am good at that. People request repeats of dishes I have created in the past. I probably like vegetables the best as there are so many things you can do with them. Good steak is a rare find here on the East Coast.

I am doing this all wrong, but I did it in the order that makes me happiest.

Currently reading The Information. Next up is True North. I prefer sci fi and nonfiction.

I like to travel and have an updated passport. I travel light, as travel should be about experiences, not the crap you brought with you from home.
The six things I could never do without
The Intertubes, family and friends, surreality, hiking on beautiful spring and fall days, the possibility of a perfect meal, curiosity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Future economies. Design and architecture solutions that include regular people. How to help people become self-sufficient.

How much I want to start an ultra-middle-wing political party that demands everyone work together.

Why do people think The Doctor is actually good? Why is it that they can collapse universes, but can't cure cancer on the show Fringe? Why aren't there more explosions in romcoms?

I am planning out my dream home, along with gardens, patio, kitchen, and workspaces. Off the grid.

Singularities.

Charlieplexing LEDs to form multi-dimensional data arrays.

Ontologies containing multitudes of taxonomies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most likely out with friends. Could be playing a board game, bowling, learning a new skill, or watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I always get good parking. I am starting to think I am a small god of parking.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 30–42
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You are happy with your life but would like to share it with someone else.

You are Dean Winchester or Finn the Human, preferably one that doesn't mind me being like PB and hiding in my lab trying to solve some esoteric problem. I may ignore many social graces, but I will make you an excellent meal at least once a day.

You use taxonomies.

You need someone to rebuild technologies after the zombie apocalypse.

You need to understand or build a complex system. Of anything.

Pleasepleaseplease if you are a nerd, don't try to outnerd me as a conversation starter...it is a huge turn off. Tell me you like my glasses or love of Adventure Time ;-)
