My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
PROLOGUE:
In the interest of full dis-claim-osure... I tend to get long-winded in written form. (This is not the case in physical form... in-person I fall more on the side of quiet-to-regular winded-ness.) With this in mind... I have re-configured my profile into something more akin to a bullet-pointed list, albeit I have maintained a few moments that completely blow (you know, like the a fore mentioned wind). Anyway... Enjoy!

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
I used to identify myself as first-and-foremost, an Artist... however... due to a whirlwind of life events... being a Dad has overtaken that first-and-foremostedness. That being said... as my time as a parent is shared... I (should) have plenty leftover to be an Artist. My need to be creative has never waned... but my time management and energy cache is lacking at times. I'm working on it.

I support myself by being a regular `ol "9-5er". I never ever EVER saw myself taking this path, but... in order to feed and house me and the kid... compromises need to be made. Lucky for me... the "real-job" is not a terribly painful compromise. It is in my field and for the most part I like it. BUT... no matter how responsible I'm trying to be... OR... how much I like eating... I would still rather being carrying on that romantic tradition/fallacy of the Artist spending day/night in the studio cranking out work.

I have a good to great sense of humor... I am witty... smart... polite (thanks Ma)... honest AND sincere... open-minded... fun/funny... generally maybe kind of shy... and sometimes quiet-ish.

The only thing I like more than laughing... making other people laugh. Preferably "with me" and not "at me"... but either is fine.

The NEED to Knows:

-I suffer from a life-long battle with nostalgia.
-I enjoy good TV, movies, and music... however... I do occasionally indulge in BAD music, movies, and TV.
-I wear jeans and t-shirts but can and will clean-up nicely from time to time.
-I appreciate culture, sub-culture, AND pop culture equally.
-I like to shop but recently I have trouble with the purchasing part.
-I have been told I have style... albeit... my own style.
-I like chachkis, kitsch, flea markets, and antique malls.
-I collect and save things for reasons I am not always aware of.
-I usually have some version of a mustache/beard... and it's seasonal.
-I sometimes watch and/or attend sporting events.
-I have two dogs of the Chihuahua mix variety... they are adorable... but they are also assholes.
-I generally like to keep my life/space need-and-tidy... you know... like organized, but... there are a few areas of my life/space that have become an embarrassing mess. Someday I will clean that shit up... I will.
-I have a shoe collection that is bigger than yours. I have "paired" it down in recent years... but It is still bigger than yours.

Oh yeah, and...
-I have a kid... he is 5... and he is Rad.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
-Co-Parenting... or will die trying
-Thinking... incessantly (mostly about stuff but also about things)
-Trying to be Good
-Looking for Love (and/or something that resembles it)
-Paying the Bills
-Paying my Dues
-Wondering what comes next
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Artin'... Worryin'... Procrastinatin'... Lookin'... Seein'... Watchin'... Drawin'... Paintin'... Teachin'... Conceptualizin'... Problem Solvin'... Arrangin'... Color Coordinatin'... Administratin'... Leavin' the "g" off "ing" words... Fixin' (stuff)... BBQin'... Drivin'... uhh... Huggin'... Ruminatin'... and... umm... and Ellipsisizin' while I write.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Tattoos. I am not covered in tattoos... but most of them are right out there for ya'll to see. I plan to continue acquiring them (many ideas and fledgling designs on deck)... however, they will almost always lose the battle in the ongoing war that is fiscal prioritization.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

MUSIC
Music (both recorded and live) is very important to me... In the interest of full disclosure... I listen to what most would call Metal. That being said... it does not define me. I loathe the stigma that comes along with it and I always feel the need to explain that I have been just about everywhere... music-wise. SO... if you want references, I got them... and they are available upon request.

FOOD
After a lifetime of eating more-than-poorly... I am trying to eat healthier... and I think I might be experiencing some moderate success nowadays. I am not a Vegetarian or a Vegan but I'd like to consider myself both friendly and flexible where both are considered.

Some Things I Like to Eat (innuendo notwithstanding):
-Mac`n`Cheese
-Asparagus (smelly pee be damned)
-Steak if Grilled to Perfection (usually by Mom)

(Jeeeezus... that wasn't a very healthy sounding list at all! Well.. I try to eat healthy-ish VERSIONS of the above... and I eat other things too. So... yeah, whatever.)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family
2. Music
3. Various Implements of Art Making
(analog AND digital... and should be counted as one thing... I insist!)
4. Stuff to Look at
5. Ice Water
6. Something Furry (meaning animal companionship)

Oh, and a Bitchin' Script Font (please add to number 3)

Honorable Mention: Pancakes
(...and probably a few other things.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Ideas... Projects... Words... Images... Fonts... (My)Art.**
-The Past... The Future... Parenting... Forgetting... (My)Problems**
-How am I ever going to clean out the space that is/was my studio?
-What to do with this pair of psychotic dogs?
(...but mostly, just how to be better me.)

**FOOTNOTE: The first two take up the majority of my "thinking about" time... the other are more occasional thinkings.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Decompressing from the week... and welcoming the sweet SWEET relief that is the weekend. Maybe a drink/beer... Maybe Netflix... Maybe a movie on-demand... Maybe live music... Maybe nothing... Odds on the latter are highest.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes scratch my dog's "used-to-be-balls" (the empty fur patch were his `lil chi-chis used to be). Although... since I took in a second dog, the first has become decidedly less interested in the activity. I guess it is embarrassing?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Perhaps you want to chat... you want to chuckle... you want to be close to someone (again)... you want do something different... you want to do the same (but with someone different)... you want to meet someone new.

Contrary to the OkC usage agreement... If you would like to message me... you do NOT need to have more than one Yoga pose and/or Mountain Top picture. No offense... I have done Yoga... I have been on Mountain tops.. they are great! ...they are nice and admirable and beautiful and amazing... but I would rather see you (...and preferably not with someone very awkwardly cut out).

Shit... did I forget the EPILOGUE? Oh well... I doubt any of you made it this far... but if you did, and you find yourself in need of an EPILOGUE... just message me!
