Entrepreneur by day. Regular person by night. Although, I guess I'm
also a regular person by day, too. My name is Chris and I'll try
just about anything once. Some friends challenged me to do an open
mic night at a comedy club. So I did. My cousins said, Hey, let's
climb a mountain. So I did. Some other friends said, Hey, let's
start a company. So I did. One of my buds said, Hey, let's go to
Medellin and see Roberto Escobar. So I did. Sort of.
Since moving here from Chicago I've fallen in love with the
outdoors: Mountain biking, road biking, hiking, urban exploring,
I've even gone surfing a few times.
(And in case you're wondering how my one-night stand as a comic
went, apparently I'm not as funny as I think.)
What I’m doing with my life
Working on revolutionizing early childhood education and curing
hangovers. These are the two things that take up most of my time
lately. It's an odd combination that I'll have to explain later.
I’m really good at
Revolutionizing early childhood education and curing hangovers.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I can cure their hangover and tell them something interesting
about early childhood education.
The second thing they notice is that I have a shiny head. Everybody
asks if I wax my head or put something on it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Diamond Age, Dharma Bums, Caesar, lots of non-fiction
Good Will Hunting, Meet Joe Black, 25th Hour, almost anything with
Coldplay, Michael Jackson, Mumford and Sons, Fun. Jay Z
Chocolate anything, healthy stuff...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about the legend of St Christopher and how many ways this
metaphor for journeying manifests in various narratives. I even
noticed it in a Dr. Seuss story recently (I forget the title, but
it featured a one wheeled warbler - do you know the one?) Also,
speaking of journeying, I also think sometimes about Journey and
how awesome I am at singing Don't Stop Believing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that I have private things that I'll admit.
You should message me if
You enjoy yoga, hiking, biking or other active engagements;
You're intelligent, ambitious and have a sense of humor;
You think that life is less about being on time than it is about
being in time.
