Just a Lou Reed-type, looking for a Laurie Anderson.
What I’m doing with my life
Enriching lives. Exploring the city. Exploring myself. Chicago
transplant and proud of it.
I’m really good at
Trivia (particularly of the musical variety). Making movies. Sleeping in. Rocking out (played guitar since I was 14). Brunch. Listening. Writing with words. Writing with light.
The first things people usually notice about me
"Anybody ever tell you 'you sound like Seth Rogen?"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Literary faves: Hunter Thompson, Nelson Algren, Studs Terkel. Lots of Non-Fiction. David Sedaris. Anthony Bourdain.
Movies: Having gone to film school, I'm kind of a film snob. Scorsese. Coppola. Charlie Kaufman/Spike Jonze. Lebowski. Fellini. Kubrick. Hitchcock. Kurasawa. I'll watch most anything, but will opt-out at 40 minutes if I'm not engaged.
The Larry Sanders Show is pretty much the greatest show of all time. Anything well-written.
Music is my first love: Beastie Boys. Beatles. Zeppelin. The Who. Dylan. Miles Davis. Zappa. Sinatra. Robert Johnson. Wilco. Hank Williams Sr. Bjork. Pearl Jam. Phish. Los Lobos. Beck. Saw Phish 9 times last year, won't apologize. But will say that's an unusually active year. Grateful Dead!
My first real job was working as a producer at Chicago's Classic Rock radio station. Met a bunch of fun people and have lots of great stories. I love all music, but am pretty much a prisoner of Rock & Roll.
Food? Thai, Korean, Italian, Mexican. Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Also, I am the King of Brunch.
The six things I could never do without
Music. iPhone. Guitar. Camera. Computer. Laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
Just as likely to be at work, out on the town, or enjoying a night
in. It doesn't really matter when you live *every* night like it's
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've been accused of transmitting the Kavorka. I think it's my
You should message me if
You appreciate laughter, life, good music and art.
