My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So far, this life has been a crazy ride, and an amazing learning experience. As cheesy as it may sound, I approach every day with a positive attitude and proceed with the belief that every interaction is an opportunity to learn something new.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just moved to SF from Chicago for my work. I love my work. I also can't wait to explore this great city.

I'm also trying to decide if I should give it all up to wander around the world with a guitar on my back, playing the blues. Or if I should organize an R&B band (Think Booker T. & the MGs).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Trivia (particularly of the musical variety). Taking pictures. Making movies. Making others laugh. Sleeping in. Rocking out (played guitar since I was 14). Brunch. Listening.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"You remind me of Seth Rogen/Zach Galifinakis". I get that a lot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Literary faves: Hunter Thompson, Nelson Algren, Studs Terkel. Lots of Non-Fiction. David Sedaris. Anthony Bourdain.

Movies: Having gone to film school, I'm kind of a film snob. Scorsese. Coppola. Charlie Kaufman/Spike Jonze. Lebowski. Fellini. Kubrick. Hitchcock. Kurasawa. I'll watch most anything, but Gene Siskel once told me if he's not engaged with a film after 40 minutes, he stops and moves on (because life is too short to watch bad movies). This has turned out to be a pretty good rule.

I don't own one, but The Larry Sanders Show (hey, now!) is pretty much the greatest show of all time. Anything well-written.

Music is my first love: Beastie Boys. Beatles. Zeppelin. The Who. Dylan. Beastie Boys. Miles Davis. Frank Zappa. Frank Sinatra. Robert Johnson. Wilco. Hank Williams Sr. Bjork. Pearl Jam. Phish. Los Lobos. Beck. Did I mention the Beastie Boys? To quote Duke Ellington, "there are only two kinds of music: good and bad."

Food? Thai, Korean, Italian, Mexican. Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Also, I am the King of Brunch.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music. iPhone. Guitar. Camera. Computer. Laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
metacognition. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sitting in the Lincoln bedroom.....thinking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been accused of transmitting the Kavorka. I think it's my Latvian heritage.
