My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am confident, independent and care little about what others think of me. Not a fan of excessive drama, and I loathe guilt trips and any other attempts at manipulation including commercials, proselytization, and armed robbery.

When at the grocery store I prefer to carry everything myself, either in my hands or way overfilling a basket before I will get a cart. I prefer using reusable bags but I swear it feels like I always forget to bring them.

I like to practice optimism through pessimism; things could always be worse than they presently are, and I'm quite adept at imagining potential scenarios should the current situation rapidly deteriorate to illustrate that fact.

I have a very mild fear of flying, mainly because I like watching airplane disaster shows. It doesn't stop me from getting on one; I've flown a decent amount in the US, but I've never seriously left the country. I do have my passport though should the opportunity arise.

I like watching true crime shows because I like to learn from others' mistakes. I doubt I'll really need to use my armchair degree in forensics but it's fun to think about. Plus I'll warily admit I enjoy experiencing tragedy vicariously. Perhaps that's also why I read a lot of current events and keep up with the news.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've hopped around through some IT support jobs, and
I've recently become a software developer. Eventually I would like to create some phone game that sucks people in (and their donations!).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Mathematics, logic, grammar, Nintendo
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorites include Al Franken, Vampire Hunter D, Hitchhiker's trilogy, Harry Potter Series, LoTR, Our Dumb World, Stephen Colbert, Zombie Survival guide and World War Z.

I have a decent collection of DVDs that seem obsolete now that I have a blueray player (ps3). :( My favorites are usually comedies such as Idiocracy and the Venture Brother's seasons. Just a few others off the top: the Alien and Predator series (not AVP though), Fight Club, Amelie, Serenity, the first Matrix, Star Wars (4, 5 and 6), District 9, Stepbrothers, Old School, etc. I tend to base my desire to see a movie in the theater by its rating on Rotten Tomatoes, or at least set my expectations.

As far as television goes, Adult swim typically has my favorite line up (although I've never been a fan of "King of the Hill", I can tolerate it), along with Futurama and Stewart/Colbert. Admittedly I don't have cable currently though, so instead if anything it's documentaries and science shows on Netflix, along with plenty of comedy. The IT Crowd, Snuff Box, Bob's Burgers, and Archer, to name a few.

I like music a lot, but it is not a central focus of my life. Pandora is my principle source of music. I have it on my phone, and typically listen to it in my car when nothing interesting is on NPR. Among my favorites are NIN, Puscifer, Tool, Cake, Ben Folds, Soul Coughing, Modest Mouse, Gorillaz, The Faint, Beck, Oghr, Brad Sucks, just to name a few. You can check out my station at:

I am a bit of a picky eater, but I am willing to try new things. I'm not a big fan of a lot of cheeses. This tends to preclude a lot of options. I am a big fan of sushi (especially nigiri), and pizza (unfortunately). I love to grill and have lost arm hair only a couple times.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Internet. I cannot overstate this enough. I love having so much information available to me so easily, especially since my memory sucks. I am constantly looking up things I don't know.
Coming in after that, in no particular order: Running water, transportation, shelter, A/C at said shelter, humor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Work, current events in the news and how to meet more people.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am back on a Monday-Friday schedule after a couple years of weekends/nights/overnights. Still getting used to it and haven't gotten out much on Friday yet!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a Mario Kart alarm clock and a bullet bill T-shirt.
