I am grounded, quirky, and adventurous.

My Self-Summary

I always crave more new journeys (inward and outward) and the energy of sharing them. Every moment bursts with potential for a new path so I don't get lost in rigid expectations or attachments to the way I think things "should be." I am more focused on how I live My Life and its direction more than specific events and timing along the way. I love, love Life, even with all of its perceived pain and confusion - This Moment is a amazing gift so I don't grind my gears freaked out about the past or future. Bloom where you are planted!

Spiritually-speaking, I could go on and on, but I can sum it up pretty tight with some quotes, "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience." A famous yogi said, "See The Divine in all, or see the Divine not at all." Full stop...

Yoga and meditation practices as well as Vedic, Buddhist, Tantric philosophies fire me up inside. That said, I embrace Fun and the human experience broadly (to say the least), balancing whatever spiritual ground I am cultivating with a healthy dose of responsible hedonism. My social (humanist, I suppose), political (Green), cultural (epicurean) and sexual (sex positive, noting that this does not exclude monogamy) values are very progressive - I am not for the shy or conservative.

I play various musical instruments, sing, have a home studio and have had my share of time on stages. My music is so much more than hobby - it colors My Life and harmonizes it with an ever-evolving soundtrack. I certainly don't always act my age, though my emotional core reflects my years. I am brimming with compassion and hope for the world and think we are still in the infancy of our human expression and potential. Though, I am sometimes a sappy romantic, I am often very irreverent, sarcastic and controversial. Much of my Worldview draws from my travels around the world and I will usually be planning a trip somewhere (so, get on The Bus). I love culture and counter-culture. Wealth should only be defined by the ability to be generous and I know that the rainbow is ALWAYS more important than the pot of gold.

Sure I want all the soulmate stuff – a fertile place to dream, a safe place to stumble, transcendent mind-blowing creatively inquisitive passion, growing old together, etc. - but, there’s so much discovery that must take place before that - a passionate soul…sarcastic, silly, quirky, cerebrally funny...a love affair with the vastness of life, untethered to convention or social dogma...laughter (and I will make you laugh) and humility all the time...a eager embrace of the absurd and offbeat...lust for travel and exploration...Black Rock City experience or aspirations are a plus (Burning Man continues to be a expansive part of my life for 7 years now, but I am not ruled by it)... some baggage is certainly OK with me - a little patina on the soul adds character and dimension - as long as you are prepared to co-evolve with me (but I cannot teach) ...of course, mostly, I am looking for someone with whom I have That Flow and who helps me feel authentic and free.

What I’m doing with my life

Cultivating, digging deeper, striving for gratitude all the time, yadda, yadda - oh, you meant more specifically? - hmmm...

...I am currently working on a rock opera about robots, love, humanity, divinity...

...I am wondering why someone hasn't randomly walked into my backyard and cleaned my BBQ grill - I am concerned that I may have to do it myself...UPDATE: I cleaned it my old damn self...

...continually storyboarding 3 or 4 films in my head that I want to make so that I can compose their scores...

...career wise: background as a corporate consultant for sales/marketing/business development in the high-tech (software) sector transforming into a non-profit founder focused on green technology, renewable energy, sustainable commerce and social justice...

...apparently, online dating...

I’m really good at

I hope typing up clever things about myself...

The six things I could never do without

friends
music
yoga mat
optimism
meditation
the venerable ellipsis (...weren't you paying attention...?)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

spirituality, consciousness, how to improve the infrastructure of my Burning Man camp, the next chord progression, the next lyrics, ways to be more Compassionate, how to effectively usher flying bugs out of my home without harming them, whether I should go 100% vegetarian (I won't, though I maintain a very conscious diet), how to spend time not thinking about anything (focus on the breath!), fringe physics (my major was Quantum Physics), how to be more Green, organic vs. local, which home improvement project to ignore next, Stillness/Being Present, the passionate touch of someone special (how could I not include that - and don't we all?)...

On a typical Friday night I am

in San Francisco (often my old neighborhood, the Mission) remembering how young I still am (and will always be)...OR...

...buried deep in my studio making music with a bottle (or two) of red as the night whispers quiet words of inspiration...OR...

...on a drive to Tahoe to shoosh down the mountains a bit (I shoosh with 2 sticks, by the way)....OR...

...(formerly) at the dearly departed Parkway Theater sitting on a stinky couch eating surprisingly good pizza watching some compelling or just plain silly movie...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

What? We haven't even been on our first date yet...OK, OK, ummm... I like sci/fi & horror movies way too much (clearly exposing my geek streak)...or perhaps something a bit less geeky...ah, yes, I have 5 tattoos (6th one planned) - and look forward to meeting the person who finds them all...

You should message me if

...you like to laugh and explore, are super, super open-minded, are a progressive thinker/feeler/experiencer and won't take either of us too seriously...
