My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I just became an NASM certified personal trainer! Hell yeah!

@haikuburns on Twitter. It will give you a surprisingly good idea of the core of my being.

I moved to Chicago right after graduating from the University of Georgia in 2011. I temped for a while before landing a steady day job with Kaplan University (You know the test prep company? They also have a lot of online degrees they offer). I'm trading my soul to a corporation, but I'm addicted to eating and living indoors, so there's not much I can do about that.

Art and theatre are very important to me. I enjoy going to the symphony more than anyone else I know.

I'm relentlessly optimistic but also cynical and sarcastic. The key is just knowing when to be which.

I want to laugh and make other people laugh, a sense of humor is one of the most important things to me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm working in the Registrar at Kaplan University, but that's just to pay the bills.

I'm studying to become a Certified Personal Trainer so that I can ditch desk jobs forever and also work in a field I'm passionate about. (I JUST PASSED!)

Since I've been focusing on preparing for my CPT test, I've held off on acting and improvising, so most of my time is spent studying/working out/relaxing.

I've also been studying Wushu (Kung Fu) for the past two years, and I love it--maybe more than acting and improvising. It's a little scary discovering you love something after going through high school and college focused on something completely different. But it led me to the personal trainer idea, so I'm more excited than scared now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Kung Fu, improvisation, making friends laugh, relaxing, being friendly, dreaming, listing things I'm good at, meta-humor!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My ass. I wish that was a joke, two years of leg intense exercises didn't make it any smaller.

Authors: Terry Pratchett (Discworld, Good Omens), Lev Grossman (The Magicians, read it!), Tolkein, G.R.R Martin, Lian Hearn, Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland references are the fastest way to get my attention), Charles Stross, Cory Doctorow, JK Rowling, Shakespeare (for both reading and performing).

Music: Marina and the Diamonds, Delta Rae, Florence and the Machine, The Protomen, Chopin, La Roux, Joe Hisaishi, Childish Gambino, The High Kings, Daft Punk, Nobuo Uematsu, MIKA, Regina Spektor, ZZ Ward, and epic movie/game soundtracks.

TV: Community, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, Firefly, New Girl (I was surprised by how good it is) Frasier, 30 Rock, Battlestar Galactica, Futurama, The Simpsons, South Park, Sherlock, Avatar/Legend of Korra.
I've only seen a few episodes of Doctor Who, but the episode "Vincent and the Doctor" was incredibly beautiful.

Movies: Can't go wrong, except with horror.

Food: Sushi is the single most perfect food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A computer.
Kung Fu.
Time to relax.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
People who have a frown as their resting face. I like to smile really warmly at them. It's like attacking them with happiness.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working out, then either studying and playing videogames or going out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was the only person in my graduating class in high school. (No I wasn't home-schooled, it was just a very small school and a lot of people had dropped that year)

You can make me laugh and you're outgoing. Seriously, I think it's great when women are brave enough to make the first move.

You study any kind of martial art or are just generally a very physically active person!
