My self-summary
I'm all sorts of nerdy and geeky, funny (that's actually a lie. I am so far from funny that I actually make nearby milk crawl up people's noses), sarcastic, cuddly and curious to the point of being annoying. Often I'm just annoying.

I've found that climbing is just about the most fun you can have with your pants on. I've done all kinds of sports in my life, but this one is definitely "it" for me. There's something very Zen-like about climbing, and even though it's technically a solo sport I like the social aspect of it.

I'm a programmer by profession, but I like to think I don't fit the stereotype. Well, not the standard programmer stereotype in any case.

To paraphrase the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation, "I'm your plastic pal who's fun to be with."
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally speaking I work as a game developer.

Unprofessionally speaking I'm living my life so that I can have as much fun as possible, with varying definitions of "fun." I play games (Fallout 3, the Mass Effects, Killzone 3, the new X-COM version etc.), I go to parties (I'm a drum and bass kind of guy), I read, climb, ponder, write, navel-gaze and pontificate.
I’m really good at
making incredibly loud clicky sounds with my tongue.

Pretty impressive, huh?
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told that my face is really "animated." Go figure. I've also got a few tattoos

Personality-wise I'd wager it's my sense of humor and the fact that I never shut up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a huge scifi fan (a geek who loves sci-fi? Who woulda thunk?) so my books tend to gravitate in that direction. Favorite scifi authors include folks like Charles Stross, Douglas Adams and Iain Banks (with and without the M.) On the non-scifi -side, I absolutely love Chuck Palahniuk and I've managed to get hooked on reading about the history of cryptography.

Shows? I loved the Battlestar Galactica reboot and Firefly. Currently I'm watching Breaking Bad and setting up a meth lab as I write this. Oh, and David Tennant is the Doctor.

My taste in music is pretty eclectic (here's me on Spotify in case you have it. ) I listen to everything from drum'n'bass to classical music, folk to industrial metal.
The six things I could never do without
— Toothpicks. I'm addicted to them and I need help
— The internets
— Climbing
— Good friends
— My liver
— This last thing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Reality.

The universe and how weird it can be is a constant source of amazement and downright glee for me.

I also took a liking to mathematics after I got accepted to the local university's computer science program. I even got five iterations of the Cantor set tattooed onto my arm after I sprained my mind pondering it.
On a typical Friday night I am
spending a typical Friday night.

That might be just about anything from partying to reading a book to being lost on Wikipedia.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 20–39
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
you think we could have fun together.

"Fun" can be everything from odd discussions about metaphysics over a beer to going climbing together.
