My self-summary
I first moved to New York in February of 2001; stayed until 2010 then left for a 2 year grad school vacation. Been back since September.

I am originally from upstate NY, Buffalo to be exact. People from Buffalo are exceedingly optimistic and exceptionally self deprecating. The town has some thick skin. Go Bills!

My nickname during grad school was grandpa. Maybe it was because I didn't know about pandora or spotify or because I actually made phone calls instead of texted... and spelled out you're instead of ur. Maybe I deserved the nickname.

My parents are from Argentina, I'm first generation. My extended family still lives there; steak, wine and soccer, its a pretty amazing place. I was lucky to spend 4 months in Buenos Aires taking classes while in grad school. I'm the youngest of four children. I have a brother and two sisters who no matter what, still treat me like the "little brother." No, I was not spoiled - Yes, I got away with murder.

These days for fun I coach youth league lacrosse (played in college - poorly). Its a good time and I like having something where I can share my experience and help out others. I'm on the Junior Advisory Board of a non-profit that brings the sport to schools and students who haven't played before. It's a great way to stay involved.

I'm an uncle and my niece recently taught me how to "snail" when you bump fists... She's 9 and I've since taught every adult I know. Debbie Harry ("Blondie") saw me in my underwear, in my apartment... Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I still have some of the same friends now that I had in kindergarten, and over the past two years have made friends I'll have forever. I am easily distracted by dogs on the street... I have a touch of self diagnosed ADD as well. I have a bike.

As for what I am looking for; It's pretty much summed up in Bill Withers' "Lovely Day." Take a listen.

Good luck out there, use the buddy system.
I’m really good at
A little but of everything and a whole lot of nothing. But seriously, I guess I am pretty good at just relating to people... if you take a minute to actually talk to someone, you probably have more in common then you think.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told that I am very soothing. I relax people and make them feel comfortable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Grosse Pointe Blank, Shawshank Redemption, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original), Win Win, A Fighters Heart, Lord of the Rings (movies or books)... list goes on and on...

Music: It's a wide range. Some of the concerts I've been to in the past 5 years have included Bruce Springsteen, U2, Rage Against the Machine, Ani Difranco, Public Enemy, WuTang Clan, Paul Simon... its pretty much all over the place.
The six things I could never do without
I don't know about never do without... but, some things just make life worth it: good coffee, a deep sweat, a great nap, a smoky scotch, my friends and I making fun of each other (its out of love), and that feeling you get when hard work pays off.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
hmmmmm... (looks upwards and rubs chin in a thoughtful manner)
On a typical Friday night I am
Heading to dinner or drinks with friends... Or staying in and watching a movie. Not very specific, but then again, neither is the question.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I may or may not have teared up at the end of the movie "Miracle." That being said, I think the theater was dusty and they turned the air on... and allergies... or I had something in my eye.
I’m looking for

You should message me if
I've made you laugh (with me or at me).
