That's the short version.
Currently I'm working as a bartender at a restaurant downtown to help fund my current predicament of needing to pay rent and buy food. Also, pay for school, but mostly the shelter and sustenance thing. That said, I actually really like it, mostly because it is flexible with a school schedule and you meet a ton of awesome people who also pour drinks and serve tables. I also occasionally compete in cocktail contests. Compete, not win.
As posted before I am an engineering student. Something that I currently have a love/hate relationship with. The bright spots are awesome and there isn't anything better than finding solutions to problems, but other times I want to prove heat transfer theories by burning my book. Again, love/hate.
I really like good bourbon. Side effect of spending 4 years working at a bar with a ton of them. It's amazing what a little, or a lot, of time and chemistry can do to corn. Dream job would be to be able to use that fancy science stuff I'm paying to learn to be able to help make whiskey or beer.
I also have started to travel and I have found possibly my real passion. I went to Taiwan for a month last summer for school and then parlayed that into a month between Hong Kong, Thailand, and Cambodia. Backpacking solo through southeast Asia was an eyeopening experience. You learn a lot about yourself from that.
