Bartender. Lover of whiskey. Fledgling world traveler. Amateur photographer.
That's the short version.
Currently I'm running a bar at corporate-ish establishment downtown. It's pretty good gig all things considered. I can make whatever cocktails I like, put quality beer on tap, get health insurance, and I get left alone. So not a bad deal. My burnt cherry wood bitters are damn good.
I really like good bourbon. Side effect of spending 4 years working at a bar with a ton of them. It's amazing what a little, or a lot, of time and chemistry can do to corn.
I also have started to travel and I have found possibly my real passion. I went to Taiwan for a month a few summers ago for school and then parlayed that into a month between Hong Kong, Thailand, and Cambodia. Backpacking solo through southeast Asia was an eyeopening experience. You learn a lot about yourself from that. Currently planning a big Europe trip for next August. If I'm being honest at some point I would like to be able to experience some of the world with another person. Not putting anything on hold but I've figured out that the world is too big to see totally by myself.
The traveling has gotten me into photography more than a bit. I've realized that sitting by myself looking through a viewfinder is the best therapy I've found. Don't do it enough but when the opportunity arises you can find me trying to capture that one perfect shot.
What I’m doing with my life
Figuring out how much time I need to see most of the world (hint: a lot, it takes a lot of time). Heeding the advice of Ned Stark. Pouring beers and serving food to business travelers many nights a week. Trying to figure out a Thai curry rum drink. Seriously, I've been playing with that for like a year and haven't gotten the right balance yet. Figuring out what the best patio in Milwaukee is. Suggestions welcome.
I’m really good at
Making killer cocktails, equations, reaching the top shelf, trivia,
and quoting The Big Lebowski.
The first things people usually notice about me
Look at the number next to 'Height' just to the right. Take a wild guess what usually gets noticed.
Other than that hair or eyes. I have pretty great hair.

The six things I could never do without
Great whiskey, my passport, spicy food, air, two other things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where my next trip is going to be. I've charted out way too many
possible trips of 3 days to 5 months in length.
On a typical Friday night I am
At work hoping that the drunks won't damage my calm. More often
than not though, I, like Jayne Cobb, seriously have my calm
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
After working in bars I probably know the words to nearly every
Lady Gaga, Kesha, Katy Perry, Black eyed Peas, and LMFAO song. I do
not consider this my finest trait.
You should message me if
You weren't put off by my admittedly lame attempts at humor, can bring a unique point of view to conversation, enjoy a good glass of beer, whiskey, or wine, and are looking for that little something more in life.
