My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Aaaand I've moved to Portland. In San Diego for a couple weeks currently. Looking for people in both locales. I am looking for people that want to do something besides watch TV.

I'm an outdoors guy, and an adrenaline junky. Anything in the water, especially the ocean, I love. Ditto snow.. And mountains. I travel frequently, and am not above living out of the back of my Jeep to make a adventure happen. I hate plans, and hate planning even more. Brainstorming is different.

I enjoy the gym, and enjoy the science and physiology behind it. I like to help other people accomplish goals, and see what they can do.

I'm also a huge gamer. Almost strictly RPGs, for PC. Every now and then I'll play a console shooter, but more for the social aspect. I'm currently replaying Baldur's Gate.

I love animals, but my lifestyle makes it hard to keep them.

I also love lists. They help with brainstorming.

Surfing, skydiving, climbing (any discipline), backpacking/hiking, SCUBA, kite surfing, snowboarding.

I carry 10lbs worth of camera gear wherever I go, no matter how stupid and impractical it is. But I have some great shots of whiteouts on the top of mountains. >.> I can't photograph people for shit. Wildlife and landscape is my thing. The really good ones get printed at poster size and put on my wall.

I've surfed all my life... but In recent years, being out west has brought snowboarding to my forefront. It's probably my greatest passion in life right now.

I'm quiet.. about certain things. I'm terrible at starting a conversation. I can answer any question, but I won't start actually talking unless it's something I'm passionate about.

I thrive on change.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm now in the Navy Reserves, with an active unit where I get to work full time when I want to. I've just started doing contractual outdoor instructor work for Outward Bound. I'm working towards being a full time guide. I love showing people the places where not enough people go. Being able to stand somewhere and think about how few people have actually been in that exact spot is great. And pushing people to do their best. Most of the challenges in these areas are mental. I think you learn the most about yourself when you're scared or nervous, but push that down and get through it. Those are the most satisfying experiences.

I'm back and forth from Seattle to MD. Sometimes I fly, sometimes I drive.

As my mother says, I'm constantly trying to retire. Unfortunately, if you do it too early, people just call you a bum. I don't think our society should be so focused on work. We constantly ask our kids "What do you want to be when you grow up?". Our entire childhood is geared towards growing up, going to school, getting a job, and working for 40 years. Most people will save up and take one trip to Ireland, and think that that's the biggest thing that their life holds. Fuck all that. Work should be what you do to get to the next awesome experience. If you're lucky, work IS that awesome experience.

Did I mention travel? Travelling is a huge part of my life and my goals. I want to go everywhere. I've been to some amazing places already. I have a hard time going to the same place twice though, because I could be seeing something new.

I have an on-going collection of pictures of awesome places, doing stupid things. When I feel like I have enough pictures, I'm going to send it to Samuel L Jackson and request a motha' fuckin' wallet.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Coming up with new life-long goals. My bucket list is huge. I try to stay on top of it, but accomplishing one often inspires others. I try to learn a new activity as often as possible. Speed gliding is soon.

Also, being hypocritical about punctuation and grammar. I was a nazi, but my skills have rusted with disuse. Now I have to hate myself when I slip.

Being realistic? It stems from not caring. But I don't get stressed out about shit. No matter what the problem is, I'm good. Life moves on. And if it doesn't, chances are you can't help it, and stressing it made it worse.

Not using the goddamned phone. I hate talking on 'em.

In order, for a bit. This is a working list. You can never remember everything at once.

Books: Catch 22, George R.R Martin, C.S. Friedman, Robert Jordan, Orson Scott Card, The 7 Pillars, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (I read this before bed if I can't sleep.), Time Travel in Einstein's Universe, WMA Manuals, Terry Goodkind, The Climb,

Movies: It bears saying that I have a Man-Crush on Jason Statham. Braveheart, anything by Kevin Smith, Monty Python, Legends of the Fall, LOTR, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven (you get the point on those), Pulp Fiction, Boondock Saints, Donnie Darko, Top Gun, That's it That's All, The Art of Flight, Farce of the Penguins, Blazing Saddles,

TV: Dont watch much. Archer, the Boondocks, A Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy. I've been told to watch a bunch, and just never do.

Music: I listen to a bit of everything... even country. Sublime, Tool/APC, Deadmau5, Disturbed, Albannach, the Rogues, Delhi 2 Dublin, Enigma, Hollywood Undead, Ballyhoo!, Skindred, Pearl Jam, M83, Tori Amos, Pepper, 311, Murder City Devils (I didn't even know this was who this was, but I kept seeing it on people's pages. Anything from The Art of Flight soundtrack, I listen to on repeat.), Dropkicks, Flogging Molly, Afroman. Yes, Afroman. He's a goddamned genius, in a way I won't explain here. (You can trust it's not lyrically.)

Comedians: Bill Burr, Lewis Black, Chris Rock, George Carlin, Bob Sagget,

Food: Chinese/Sushi. I eat more chinese than everything else put together. Red, bloody, beef. Mashed potatoes. Greasy burgers for hangovers. Chex mix, Baked Lays, and at the summit, wheat thins with summer sausage.
I DO know how to eat healthy, and do more than this makes it sound. But the healthy stuff is what I cook, and comes out bland. I DON'T like cheese. Yeah yeah, "You're un-American!". Suck my terrorist dick then.

Others: I love me some board games and card games. Scrabble, Settlers of Catan, Euchre, Risk and Chess.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Adrenaline sports, music, my care-free attitude, humor, the ocean.. mer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Future plans. How best to next pursue happiness.

Also. Ruthless. What a shitty word. To have no Ruths. But Ruth is such a sweet old lady. And Liam Neeson has never had a single Ruth? I find this hard to believe. And why isn't the opposite Ruthful?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Could be anything. Drinking with the guys.. packing the jeep for the weekend's adventure, or hanging out at home on my computer/watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I first heard the commercial for Trojan Bare Skin Condoms, I was trying to figure out who the fuck would want a shaggy condom, for about 30 seconds. And which way does the fur go?

I want to be a pirate. Seriously. A lot.

You can belay, paddle out in a hurricane, pick a cliff line, drink a bottle of whiskey in one go, don't suck, can make a blue sword, aren't afraid to be yourself and just seek a fun life. If you like renn fests, and can handle me blaring Irish/Scottish music constantly.

If you compare yourself to a Sex in the City character, please wipe your OS. - Update. Not enough of you understand what this means. If you find yourself wondering, please use the bottle of peroxide you used to bleach your hair as a chaser for your mimosa.

Never thought I'd have to say it, but here in Europe, I've run into it a lot. If you believe you even deserve an opinion on gay relations, and how they affect someone besides you, I dont have time for that sort of ignorance.
