My self-summary
Hi there. I'm an electrical engineering student, but not a fan of the "digital revolution". I play with guitars and mountain bikes for fun. I snapped a frame for the fist time on my used 2001 Kona last summer, and have rebuilt a tougher bike from its wreckage. I'm working my way back to climbing at a 5.10 - 5.12 level at the OSU climbing center. It's wrecking my hands and muscles, but it's a good hurt! Anyone who needs a belay partner, or someone to show them the ropes, or whatever, hit me up!

I'm also on the OSU Solar Vehicle Team. Our second car burned down last summer, and we're planning on rebuilding by July. Wish us luck!

I love being outdoors and active. I like rock climbing, mountain biking, sailing, hiking, and swimming in rivers or lakes. I don't much like pools, I'm not quite sure why.

I love all kinds of music, and play Beethoven, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, The Animals, and Metallica, to name a few, on either electric or acoustic guitar. I currently have 6 guitars and hope to finish building a seventh soon. I'm also working on building my second amp from scratch.

I really like the idea of reusing things others have thrown out in new and creative ways.

What I’m doing with my life
I'm starting at OSU as a senior in electrical engineering, hoping to finish a certification in CNC machining at LBCC, and building and repairing guitars and amps.

I also currently work at a local hardware store, and I like my job. I love helping people, especially when it means coming up with a creative way to solve a problem.

On the side, I'm a machinist for the OSU Solar Vehicle Team. The head of manufacturing to be precise, but it's no big thing. I'm also repairing a Koralle model 12' single hull sailboat to make it sea- er, river-worthy.

I try to stay busy, but I'd be happy to make time in my life for meeting new people.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
I like science fiction and fantasy, though lately any reading I do is for classes. Particularly Orson Scott Card and Alan Dean Foster. I also enjoy the Xanth anthology by Piers Anthony.

Movies:
I generally prefer drama, action, or comedy. Some favorites are A Beautiful Mind, The Illusionist, The Matrix, Goodwill Hunting, The Count of Monte Cristo, Death Race, Taken, the Transporter trilogy, the original Indiana Jones trilogy, The Emporer's New Groove, Madagascar, Over the Hedge. . .

Music:
Gogol Bordello, Guano Apes, Gaelic Storm, Basshunter, Great Big Sea, and Tim Minchin are a few I've been listening to a lot lately, but I have around 200 actual, physical CDs of anything from Beethoven to Christina Aguilera to Coal Chamber.

Food:
I eat a ridiculous amount for a skinny kid. I like Italian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, German, sushi. . . pretty much whatever's good!

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about my work, my relationships with others, philosophy, the role religion might play in others' lives (I have no faith of my own), music, my projects mostly, and whatever shiny thing catches my eye, or pretty much whatever. I'm only rarely actually in the here and now, I'm always planning the next project, plotting the next Really Bad Idea, or trying to guess at the way I have to organize my time to do everything that needs to, should, or could happen. Times I am in the present are with good company, or when I'm working with very sharp (knives, saws, razors), very hot (ovens, soldering irons, torches), very fast (cars, mountain bikes, longboards) or very hazardous (acetone, antifreeze, paint thinner, paint, fiberglass resin) items. I've learned too many lessons the hard way already.
