I am seeking a clever, kind person, and it's not you.
My Self-Summary
I'm not sure what I expect out of OKCupid. What I am sure about is
what I DO NOT EXPECT and that is rudeness, disrespect, and most
offensive of all - solicitation.
Besides that? I'm 28 right now, have a Masters degree which I did
jack with. I'm educated as a critic and literatteur, skilled in
writerly attributes and I take those very seriously.
I have many and varied interests. I am a cynic. My medium of
communication is sarcasm which tries to be amusing, but sometimes
fails to be so.
And oh yeah, please, do not call me "dear" or "honey" or
"sweetheart" or any variants of the same. I have not given you the
right and believe me, to most women these terms are offensive.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it despite INCREDIBLE odds.
I’m really good at
Words. Insults and profanities. Rhetoric. Driving in Delhi traffic.
Languages. Being opinionated. Procrastinating. Being a drama queen.
Sleeping. Drowning in self-pity. Losing my temper. Getting
irritated. Did I mention being a drama queen?
The first things people usually notice about me
Either my build (because the width is not in keeping with the
height) or how I move through life with my nose and instep high in
the air.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Loads. Comics to classics. A Capella to Heavy metal. Caviar on
crackers to rice and pickles.

surprise!). My favourite comic character is Reggie Mantle, shut up.

could go on. Non-English writers? Ved Vyaas leads the pack! And
then Homer, Isabel Allende, Elif Shafak, Petronius, Josef Konrad,
Orhan Pamuk, Plautus, Henrik Ibsen, Anais Nin, Bertolt Brecht,
Euripides, Sophocles, Gabriel Marquez, and.. brrrrr... many
more.
I adore poetry.
MOVIES
Anything well-made in terms of theme(s) or technical qualities or
acting, sub-text et cetera... what can invite me to engage with
it.
Some of my favourites: Omkara, Tropic Thunder, Star Wars, Matrix,
The Mummy (the Brendan Fraser starrer), Munich, Dom Za Vešanje,
Archangel, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Blood Diamond, Namakhalal,
Padosan, Welcome, Chupke Chupke, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and similar
comedies, Pushpak, Shootout at Lokhandwala... I know, my favourites
don't quite reflect the kind of films I like, but I've rarely seen
those kinds..
MUSIC
My favourite classical composer is Franz Liszt. Modern composer?
John Williams and A R Rahman and, all right, Atif Aslam although he
cannot sing to save his life. Also, Goran Bregovic is GOD.
My favourite band? The Beatles. Marilyn Manson. Type O Negative and
Barenaked Ladies. Weezer. Boney M.
Singers? Kailash Kher. Imogen Heap. Edith Piaf. Madonna. Vera
Lynne. Frank Sinatra. Kishore Kumar. Britney Spears. Iqbal Bano.
Bhimsen Joshi. Hariharan. Okay, even Katy Perry.
FOOD
Detailing dishes is a thankless task. I'll stick with foods and
cuisines. I enjoy the following:
Cuisines: Indian (everything, except the uber-sweet Gujarati fare),
and the spicier the better. Mexican. Indo-chinese and Schezhuan.
Greek. Middle-Eastern (from Irani to Israeli), Pacific
North-Western. Sushi (non-fried, please!) and junk food.
Foods: Kababs. Achaars and chutneys. Pulaos, pilafs, paellas... all
rice dishes. Yoghurt. Ice creams. Prawns and shrimps. Veal, pork,
mutton (minced), fish (salmon, halibut, hilsa, sole, snapper,
sturgeon).
The six things I could never do without
My comforts. Something to read. A computer filled with games I
love. An admiring and laughing audience. Ice cream. A sense of
history.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ah me, ah me, ah mine, ah me.
And plots for stories I am supposed to write. And things I should
do but never do. And personal goals I set and never fulfil. And
idiots I'd love to do violence to. And how badly newspapers present
news these days, as do TV channels - no sense of presentation,
perspective or priority! And religion. Because that's as much fun
as it is mockable.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home with my family. That's usually because there's little else
to do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I've a V on my forehead which stands for my surname.
