I am sweet, feisty, and heathenesque.
My Self-Summary
Despite my insurmountable metalness, I really am just a big kid at
heart and a hopeless romantic. I'm all about good times, laughter
all around, and lots of time spent with people who make you feel
good. I find it hard to summarize myself in essay form, so I
figured I'd just throw out a few adjectives instead.
Who I am:
-Direct, Honest, and Communicative.
-Bright. And deeply analytical about almost everything in my
life.
-Pack-Oriented. My friends/family are my world.
-Iron-willed.
-Compassionate.
-Generous, Appreciative, and Polite(parents love me).
-Giddy, silly, and laughing, a large portion of the time.
(Cheesy humor ftw)
I can also be...
-Forgetful. I never know where my keys are.
-Sometimes a bit too direct.
-Feisty, headstrong, and firm when pressed.
-Stubborn as an ox.
I am not:
-Metalcore,
I'm not that kind of metalhead.
-Polyamorous, vegan, or hipster.
I'm not that kind of Portlander.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm majoring in Marketing and Management. I hope to follow in my
family's footsteps and open a business in Portland that serves the
community.
Also, I'm enjoying life. I've lived in Portland for close to three
years now and couldn't have found a better group of friends. In my
free time, I'm generally out with them :)
I’m really good at
Empathizing, tacklehugs, being seriously the best cuddler you've
ever met, cutting through bullshit, laughing for no reason, crowd
control, staying awake for insanely long hours, motivating people,
being courteous, dancing.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I look a bit like a miniature Viking: very blonde, very Norse
looking, very short, and always sporting a two-inch Mjolnir around
my neck. I've even got the ancestry to back it up. So perhaps my
tiny, berserking fists of rage? 50 History Nerd points if you
get that reference.
...Or my large, green cat-shaped eyes. Yeah, we'll go with that.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I dig non-fiction mostly. I don't read nearly as much as I
used to, but to give a few of my favorites: Immanuel Kant's
Observations on the Feelings of the Beautiful and the
Sublime, Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel, and the
History of Murder, by Colin Wilson. I'm also pretty into the
occult, and Nordic and Germanic History in general. I rarely leave
the Purple Room at Powell's.
Movies: Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal, Apocalypse Now,
Dracula(Coppola) American Psycho, True Romance, the Fountain, I
Heart Huckabees. And of course, zombies and judd apatow style stuff
too :p
TV: Dexter(Season 1 in particular), Twin Peaks, Six Feet Under,
House, Metalocalypse, Arrested Development.
Music: Progressive + Death Metal, Folk Metal, and Atmospheric Black
Metal are the most constant on my list. I'm also under the belief
that good metal pulls influences from all over. So other:
Industrial, Jazz, Trip Hop, Classical, Psychobilly, Rockabilly,
Horror punk, or good ole classic rock. Who am I kidding, I love
anything I can dance to.
Agalloch, Amon Amarth, At the Gates, Atheist, Black Sabbath,
Bloodbath, Celtic Frost, Death, Destruction, Finntroll, Ensiferum,
Iron Maiden, Meshuggah, Morbid Angel, Oakhelm, Opeth, Summoning,
Turisas, Yngwie Malmsteen. 50 metal points if you know where my
name is from.
Others: Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Wumpscutt, Combichrist, The Doors,
Pigmy Love Circus, VNV Nation, the Cramps, Type O Negative,
Nekromantix, Misfits, Frank Zappa, Primus(and most of Les
Claypool's side projects), Puscifer.
Food: I'm pretty open, but sushi, Thai, German, Mexican or a
well-crafted Caesar pretty much always sound good. Oooh, I'm also a
little obsessed with Chipotle and their delightful lime-cilantro
rice. Yum :)
The six things I could never do without
My life has been a series of gaining and losing things, people, and
ideals that meant everything to me at the time. The only thing I
couldn't absolutely live without is my iron-will. It kind of runs
in the family.
With that being said, 6 things that I adore endlessly are my
friends/family, laughter, my computer, affection, a super comfy
bed, and music.
...And tea. 7 things, in your face OKC!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Human Motivation. My People. My Future. My ever-changing definition
of strength and virtue. What kind of tea I'm going to make. My
awesome ass animals. When I'll be able to get a Pygmy Goat.
On a typical Friday night I am
Causing mayhem with friends.. via any variation of the following:
metal, shows, dancing(industrial), drunkenly
singing(howling) Manowar (or Journey) at the top of
our lungs, meeting a million new people(that I never remember
the names of), nonstop laughter, Steampunk, Gorehounding, nerdy
rivalrous debates(..you have no idea), karaoke, homebrewing,
endless references to Metalocalypse and Arrested Development,
(seriously brutal)coloring books, Ridiculous(ly
Awesome) Themed Parties and Bar Crawls, dog parks, and anything
else we stumble upon.
With that being said, I love quiet nights in equally as much with
the right person.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Despite plenty of nerdy qualities, and an abundance of geek
friends, my pop cultural understanding is somewhat low. Trying to
describe to me the epicness of Labyrinth or the Marvel vs. Capcom
rivalry will go right over my head. Despite this I am still pretty
open-minded and willing to experience new things, as long as its
reciprocated :)
You should message me if
You are kind. And more inquisitive than critical of the external
world.
You are metal and/or I know you already.
You are into a darker subculture, and at least appreciate
metal.
You enjoy nights of effortless, drunken tom foolery. You enjoy
nights of effortless, affectionate cuddles on the sofa. The softer
hearted, counter culture types are very welcome.
Oh, and I will probably not respond to only "What's up?" as your
first message.
