What I’m doing with my life
Film student to filmmaker
The first things people usually notice about me
People like my eyes. Strangers tell me they are cool
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: "Nine Stories", "Jesus' Son"

Plays: "August: Osage County", "Betrayal", "Avenue Q"

TV: Mad Men, Louie, Archer, Daily Show and Colbert. I thought the new Netflix shows were all pretty solid, especially Orange is the New Black. All-time favorite shows are The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Larry Sanders Show, Freaks and Geeks, and Arrested Development

Movies: Fruitvale Station, Moonrise Kingdom, 127 Hours, The Hurt Locker, Michael Clayton, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Collateral, 28 Days Later, 25th Hour, Punch Drunk Love, Donnie Darko, Memento, You Can Count on Me, South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, Out of Sight, Croupier, U-Turn, Boogie Nights, Bound, Living in Oblivion, Shallow Grave, Reservoir Dogs, Miller's Crossing, Shoot to Kill, Midnight Run, Die Hard, No Way Out, Full Metal Jacket, Brazil, Better Off Dead, After Hours, This is Spinal Tap, Blade Runner, Alien, Breaking Away, The Duellists, Bad News Bears, Taxi Driver, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Godfather Part II, The Parallax View, The Conversation, Badlands

Music: So hard to narrow down. Artists who put out some of my favorite songs in 2013 include Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Haim, Vampire Weekend, James Blake, Chvrches, MGMT, Sleigh Bells, Daft Punk, Jay-Z, Eminem, and Goodie Mob

Food: Japanese, Italian, Caribbean, Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, Greek, French, Thai, Ethiopian, and many many variations of seafood. One of the best things about where I grew up is we had these amazing Chesapeake Bay blue crabs. Sooooo good!
The six things I could never do without
1) Funny people
2) Getting to pick seats for movies in advance
3) Living my secret dream of being a DJ by making playlists on my phone and picking songs on an available jukebox
4) Returning from a trip and stepping out of LAX into frequently awesome L.A. weather
5) Great stories
6) A good mechanic, dentist, and doctor (currently three different people, but maybe some day I can find one to do them all)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...the great sitcom mysteries of my childhood. Charles in Charge was in charge of one family in season one, but then the family members completely changed in season two. And season one of Saved By the Bell was in Indiana, and then season two had some of the same characters but now was suddenly in California. Did they think nobody would notice??
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My first name
You should message me if
You want to get off this weird web site and talk like real people
