My self-summary Propose an edit
Um, ok... I'm short, whimsical, musical, literary, something of a
dilettante, fond of bad puns and science fiction, allergic to raw
pineapple, and thoroughly abyssmal at writing introductory
summaries. I am prone to delusions of adequacy and am sometimes
given to muttering cryptic phrases in empty rooms. I have
occasionally been known to perch on furniture and shriek "Mea
saurus! Mea maxima saurus!" before launching myself at someone. My
daughter FreakyLP
suggested I join this site. I love animals and enjoy spending time
at the dog park with Cloud. I like to play guitar and bass, and I have an interest in sword techniques (Kendo, Kenjutsu, Iaido as well as more traditionally
Western styles. Oh hell, if it has a sharp edge, I love it!). I am
also interested in archery; I need to replace several of my
arrows though. I hope to eventually compete in 3D competitions.
Other interests include (but are not limited to!) the paranormal and ufology. I was just
watching something on the Dresden Codex from the Mayans so I would like to
learn more about it. I like to cook when I have time and
ingredients. My favorite toystore of all time has got to be
ThinkGeek - I love the technology. Remote controlled office tanks
for everyone!
I am married with children and pets and happy about it. Just here
to make friends :-) (ACK! The dreaded EMOTICON!)(Heh, I just
realized it sounds like a convention for people who like to use the
durn things - Emoti-Con '08!)
I am miffed I can't get this profile to read BLINK tags.
Mrph.
Oh yeah, cats fly when no one is watching.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I am just living day to day, moment to moment, and doing my part to
make my world a little better place... when I am not wasting
ungodly amounts of time taking pointless quizzes on here. I should
know better, but I am drawn to it somehow. Like a train wreck.
Sometimes I actually remember to work on self-improvement - learn
new technologies, become healthier, educate people on the evils of
high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
I am really good at sprawling, lounging, and writing (X)HTML and
CSS. I am a fairly decent rhythm guitarist, folk guitarist, and
bassist. I am adept at writing documentation and I have been told I
am easy to talk to and a good friend. I am also aware that my
grammar in this section totally bites, but am beyond caring at this
point. Oh yeah, I can also play the William Tell Overture and Eine
Kleine Nachtmusik on my teeth. I am fairly good at crossword
puzzles, but I am REALLY good at feeling totally awkward in almost
any social situation!
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
My existence. Followed by an abundance of dark, shaggy hair. If by
some strange quirk of fate my hair is out of my face, my eyes are
usually next. If I am dressed up for a convention, usually the
first thing noticed is my bustline. After some minutes of
conversing, they notice that I am a smartass with a penchant for
bad puns. Or a total dork.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Books. ::: drool ::: I love to read. I'm like Burgess Meredith in
that episode of the Twilight Zone, except I'm not male
and I don't need reading glasses. I'm a compulsive reader; I will
read anything that finds its way into my hands. Of course, I have
my more discriminating literary moments: I am an avid science fiction
fan, as well as enjoying anything by John Irving. I also have a heavy
manga habit - no, I
don't think I'm too old for that, thanks. I taught myself Angwar and Tengwar waaaaay back in high
school. I think this survey doo-dad wants some examples. The
Hunchback of Notre Dame. The Three
Musketeers,Twenty Years After, The Man in the
Iron Mask. The Ugly Little Boy.
Xanth series.
Myth series
and Phule series by
Robert Asprin. Foundation series and all the
robot stories by Asimov. Anything by Robert A. Heinlein.
Gone with
the Wind. Various manga. Michael Crichton. Discworld. Ringworld. When I was a
child, my favorite book was The Churkendoose. I have a list
at www.goodreads.com, but it may not be up to date.
Movies - I know I have seen several that I have enjoyed but few of
them linger in memory the way a good book does. I recently watched
and enjoyed The Forbidden Kingdom, and
I like martial arts-themed movies and comedies. I like The
Rocky Horror Picture Show but that's more of a sensory
experience than merely a movie. Overall my favorite genre would be
musicals, such as
Guys and
Dolls and Cats. I
like Science
of Sleep, Failsafe (something I believe all
political leaders should be forced to watch), Kiki's Delivery
Service, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor
Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle,
Pan's
Labyrinth, Grave of the Fireflies
(okay, I admit that I have never been able to watch this movie all
the way through - I just start bawling to the point I can't see
anymore), and others that I will add as I recall them. Such as
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and the Meaning of Life. Blazing
Saddles. It's amazing how many movies I like come to mind if I
DON'T think about it!
MUSIC! Yes! I am partial to blues, classic rock, celtic, hard rock,
some metal....Extremely fond of Jethro Tull and Simon and Garfunkel.
And Pink
Floyd.
Food - I enjoy food as an art form as well as something being
necessary to sustain life. I like Greek, Italian, Thai, Japanese,
Mexican, German.... I will try just about anything.
I have noticed a lot of people put TV preferences in here too, even
though it's not listed. But in for a penny, in for a pound, eh? I
don't really watch much TV but I like Animal Cops, It's Me or the
Dog, Ghost Hunters, and Ghost Hunters International. I like some
old British comedies (Are you being served?,
Good
Neighbors, Keeping up Appearances,
Red Dwarf,
Fawlty
Towers, Brittas Empire, Blackadder), and I liked
Northern
Exposure and The X-Files.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
There are a lot of things I would rather not do without, but apart
from the essentials (air-food-water) there isn't anything I CAN'T
do without. Let's be daring and make a list of the 6 things I would
rather not do without, shall we? So without further ado and
in no particular order....:
- Musical instruments (guitar and bass)
- Computer & Internet
- Books!
- Family. This includes the wonderful Cloud-pup.
- my close friends
- Freedom to come & go as I please
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
The meaning of life. Goals and how to achieve them. What's for
supper and other mundane stuff. How to make the world just a tad
better place. Puzzling over why some people intentionally make
others feel bad. I like to fantasize about being a superhero, but I
have no clue what my powers would be. I think about the origins of
words (etymology) and I wonder why, if the
Big 3 religions all worship the same deity, they can't get along. I
wonder why some people feel the need to point out what's wrong with
others in an attempt to hide their own flaws. I wonder if I should
run to the bank tonight and pick up a bite on the way home or just
go to bed. I wonder how many holes it really takes to fill the
Albert Hall.
There were always in me, two women at least,
one woman desperate and bewildered,
who felt she was drowning and another who
would leap into a scene, as upon a stage,
conceal her true emotions because they
were weaknesses, helplessness, despair,
and present to the world only a smile,
an eagerness, curiosity, enthusiasm, interest. ~~~ Anais

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Exhausted from working all week. Sometimes I can be found at a
sushi restaurant or
driving around aimlessly with my friend Joy. Most often I can be
found vegging on the computer or reading a book in a bubble bath.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I live in fear of the day the machines take over. I converse with
spiders. I identify colors by their hexadecimal value. I think
"SUDO make me a sandwich" is friggin' hilarious. There really isn't
anything too private about me, come to think of it - most folks who
know me already know those things. Huh. Ok... I play out long,
intense hypothetical scenarios in my head, complete with arguments
and rebuttals... and I have a tendency to burst into showtunes at
any given moment.
You should message me if Propose an edit
You understand my references to Angwar and Tengwar, or go to sci-fi
conventions. Or if you are really bored and just want to chat. I am
only interested in friendship and fun conversation. Or maybe the
perfect cup of tea, and the perfect taco.
