My Notes edit

My self-summary

A 28 y/o guy in York, I came to the UK from one of the Baltics about 11 years ago. Moved to York in 1998 to do my first degree and stayed here ever since (this little town seems to have some supernatural powers of not letting people leave).
Now working at the university while trying to do my PhD part-time.

I regard the UK my second home now despite the fact I still haven`t mastered the use of articles and cannot understand why people still put separate cold and hot taps into their bathrooms :-)

Spare time (what spare time?) is devoted to going out for meals/drinks with friends, or nights in with a book and/or in front of TV.

What I'm doing with my life

Full-time university researcher and a part-time PhD student.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favourite books are Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita", "The Little Prince" (A. de Saint-Exuperi), "Doctor Zhivago" (B. Pasternak), "Lord of the Rings" (J.R. Tolkien). I have also discovered Terry Pratchett a few months ago and been consuming his books lately.

Not a big "movies person" so difficult to pick favourites... Things i like watching over and over again are Baraka, To Kill the Dragon ("Ubitj Drakona"), Fantomas. Quite liked "Thank You for Smoking" a few years back...

The six things I could never do without

Close friends, books, challenges, a sofa, good food, good friends (again)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why did i pick the red pill?!
-and why don't i even remember doing it!

On a typical Friday night I am

At work late trying to finish work so that i don't have to come back on a saturday :)
