I'm basically a lefty and also a an open minded civil libertarian essentially against the concept of "victimless crime" among consenting adults.
I judge people by their behavior, not their conformity. Diversity of individual tastes, perspectives and motivations is natural for the intelligent and beautiful but dangerous monkeys that we are. "Norms" should demand civil behavior only, as far as they are legally binding. I'm straight. So gay marriage is not my concern or business.
Vote for me.
I'm a lifelong natural history nerd and animal lover, with a deep aesthetic appreciation for the elegant beauty and design of living things in their sadly decreasingly finite diversity. And since the Cambrian period, 540 million years ago. Female Homo sapiens is the most elegant and beautiful creature nature (God) has yet come up with.
Evolution is not rationally controversial.
I prefer moral philosophy over religion. I call myself an agnostic. I'm okay with "God" until it is given a definition. I like to think of it as "the mystery of existence". Or whatever.
I listen to rock music mostly. NO metal. 50s-60s-70s (art, glam, punk). 80s and later post punk, grunge, "alternative". I enjoy some of most varieties of music from everywhere across time, especially performed live, except heavy metal rock. I enjoy dancing if I can fake it.
I left Hollywood in 95. I'm a country boy now. Haven't listened to much new music. But I like Gaga more than Ke$ha and Bieber. RIP Amy Winehouse. She was great. Beethoven is my favorite old composer. No matter. Music is just personal taste.
I enjoy reading and writing. Mostly nonfiction. Essays, debates, or a little humor. I don't know how to write fiction. I guess I could just lie and call it nonfiction. That would make it fiction. Right? Like that guy who wrote 'A Million Little Pieces'.
I draw. Pencil, pen and ink. Definitely not world class but not bad. I've done scientific illustration, ink line and stipple. And "underground" cartoon style drawing. I like mostly pre abstract fine art. And decadent and erotic and decadent erotic art and lowbrow surrealism, etc.
Life is tragic, hilarious and beautiful. Fascinating and boring. Fulfilling and frustrating. Agony and ecstasy. All temporary.
Enjoy the ride as best you can.
Is this kind of a self summary? Part of one I guess. Or too much too soon? Let me know. I'm open to criticism and extortion.
Maybe I'll write more later. Or erase this. :-)
It's late. I'm tired. See you in my dreams.
Peace
