My Self-Summary

Book-smart, people-stupid dogophile in search of tall, brainy, offbeat, hottie who will dazzle me with his wit and knowledge of the off-the-beaten track. I'm tall and fit (swim laps 3x a week plus walks, bike rides, hikes etc. in between as I have time). Politically liberal is a big plus (conservative is a deal-breaker), and for goodness sakes no global warming deniers!

Ok, and to elaborate on a few of my "details" answers:
I don't want children of my own but am open to dating someone with kids.
I don't dislike cats but I am allergic to them and my dog thinks they are prey, so I can't date a cat owner unless we always hang out at my house and he's eventually willing to rehome his cat. In other words, I can't date a cat owner.

What I’m doing with my life

I'll give a vague literal answer, which is I am a self employed professional in the real estate industry (not a realtor). Though this question potentially invites one to wax philosophical, doesn't it?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books -- I'm on a paleoarchaeology kick. Don't ask. Or if you want to a) risk being bored, b) score points, do ask!
Music -- very eclectic tastes. It would be much easier to say genres I don't like than those I do, but then I would sound negative and I know that's a big online dating no no.
Food -- likewise. I'm always interested in trying new cuisines, but my favorites are thai, indian, and italian. And whatever I can make with whatever is growing in my yard! (Or minifarm, as I like to call it.)

The six things I could never do without

My dog.
My laptop.
My blackberry (which also has an mp3 player and camera and all my contacts).
Salad fixings.
A good lap pool, such as the Culver City Municipal Plunge (which is not merely good but a truly excellent lap pool) + swim gear
A mountain to hike on in close proximity + boots, sunscreen, and dog.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How to live more sustainably. Also, things like how to get those darn cantalope in my yard to ripen already! Obviously eating my yard is part of the answer for me.
