My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like the idea that it takes a long time to really unravel a person's story. And now that I am in my thirties, the story is always a little longer, a little more complex, and a little trickier to unravel. But I love the process of finding the truth of people's stories.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
About a year ago, I started my own business with the goal of helping high school students navigate the college process. After spending my entire career working at institutions, both locally and internationally, I feel extremely fortunate to have the freedom and responsibility that comes with running my own business.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Building stone walls. Yup, I spend every summer in the highlands of Scotland doing just that!
The first things people usually notice about me

Well, if it's my family, they usually comment on the increasing amount of gray hair I have. Ah, genetics! I have very blue eyes; people sometimes comment on them. And once I start to talk, people identify a strange accent. What they are hearing is a Scottish accent that has been diluted over the past twenty years of living away from Scotland, where I was born and raised.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have written two books and am working on a third. I don't imagine any of them will ever be published, and I am totally fine with that. It's the act of writing them that matters to me most.
