My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a writer. If I'm going to sum myself up, that's what I am. Most of my life is devoted to language and ideas and combining them into stories in various ways.

I love my life and truly look forward to getting up every day. If that changed, I'd be willing to change everything to get the feeling back. My goal is to never dread my day-to-day. That's a successful life to me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Writing, as specified above. Specifically, screenplays, prose, and comic books. I am one of the original employees of an independent film production and financing company that has produced several widely-released films in the last few years. I do creative work for them and am lucky enough to get time to develop a lot of my own material.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy: Long walks, hikes, and bike rides. Working out (at home, no gym). Good conversation. Reading and discussing books. Playing sports. Cuddling up and watching great TV/Movies. Playing piano/guitar and singing. Cooking. Planning my next adventure.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Reading out loud. I'm currently reading Borges' collected works to my dog, Ninja. We've already done the collected works of Nabokov, David Foster Wallace's "The Pale King", and the collected poetry of Rumi. She's going to be the most literate puppy in Los Angeles by the time I'm done with her.

I'm also pretty good at sports, especially basketball, football, and raquetball. Currently training for the LA Marathon next year, but I don't know if I really qualify as "good" at it yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall. And it's not even 'usually'. Heck, that's the first thing I notice about myself when I get up every morning. It's obvious.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Way too many of each for an exhaustive list, but here's a few examples:

Authors: Joseph Conrad, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hunter S. Thompson, Joan Didion, Stephen King, David Foster Wallace.

Directors: Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorcese, Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Chris Nolan.

Shows: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Girls, Louie.

I like pretty much all music and food. Trying to come up with a representative sample is an exercise in futility.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family, my puppy, my piano, my bike, my books, and my health.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I'd like to sell my car, buy a truck, and do more camping.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hopefully, at a dinner party or throwing a dinner party. If not then probably hanging out with my dog and sleeping.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think there's plenty in the answers above. We don't even know each other!

Your idea of a great date is a long walk, playing a sport/game, or doing something creative together. I like dinner and drinks, too, but more and more I just like doing simple things and talking and laughing, with dates or friends or any old time.
