I love things new and different whether an idea, a place or something to do, see, read or eat. But then again, sometimes I like the same old same-old. I'm a sucker for a man who can make me laugh.
I've been a nightclub reviewer and a columnist for the Baltimore Sun
and also a photographer. Although I've done quite a bit of fashion photography, I'm not much for actually wearing uncomfortable clothes or make-up, but I'll dress up on request. Might even have a go at lipstick.
If I didn't have a busy brain and fairish skin, I'd aspire to be a beach bum, but at the moment I'm happily trying out life inland in Mexico. I often visit family and friends in the US. Sometimes I think I want to come back to live there, then I remember that a bust of Cheney was just put in the capital building.
I detest rigid opinions of any stripe (but especially those of the right or of religion). I generally behave pretty well, I'm usually nice, definitely an introvert, a bit shy. I like to think I'm intelligent, funny, good natured, good company, etc--but don't we all? Oh, and I lied about my age.
I am Irreverent, creative, and smart.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on a novel--ouch, does that sound more pretentious or more trite?
I like NPR, The Guardian, New Yorker, New York Review of Books, and I've just started reading that interesting new internet rag: Reader Supported News. Basically don't do TV. I swim, do yoga, and work out regularly.
I’m really good at
Photographing people (I am actually a pro.)
The first things people usually notice about me

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Love fiction. All kinds of mysteries, and biography. My all-time favorite movie is Black Orpheus though it scares the hell out of me everytime I watch it. I like pretty much all music, from Beethoven, to Beatles, to Black Keys, but especially World Beat and Springsteen's Sessions Band. I do have a weakness for sushi and cerviche and I'll eat pretty much anything I didn't have to cook myself.
The six things I could never do without
My two (fully fledged) children, clean water to swim in, preferably
the ocean (so why, you might ask--and I ask myself--have I moved to
Lake Chapala, which is not only not the ocean but not fit to swim
in?) Then there's love, sex, and of course food-water-shelter. I
tend to prefer flush toilets to most other kinds.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Do Republicans actually possess hearts? Occasionally I wonder why so many people on OKC feel it necessary to go on about how they hate rap.
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm happier now than I have almost ever been. But I still hate my

You are reasonably literate and intelligent, kind, politically liberal or progressive, love sex, and can carry your end of a conversation. If you think Fox News is news, we'll never get along.
