My self-summary

A MeSs of Unmitigated Feeling

Nullum magnum ingenium sine mixtura dementiae fuit. - Seneca

Wow, three words is pretty rough. I resisted adding more above via commas because I can play by the rules. However, I'll augment that here by saying that 'jocose' and 'logophilic' are also applicable mot juste. Oh let's throw in underwhelmed and sui generis. (I may footnote this later.) I should also tell you that I am considerate. That doesn't mean that I'll always succeed in conveying that to you, but when we speak I am often making a deliberate, conscientious effort to consider your feelings. (Certain exceptions apply.)

I would also describe myself as more passionate and cerebrally hyperactive than most. I love what I love, I love loving it, I love trying to understand it, and I love trying to understand you and what we're talking about.

Whelp! Dat's it for now.

What I'm doing with my life

I run in place a lot. When I'm watching tv, chatting, conjugating verbs, performing aerial mathematics, somnambulating, turning around slowly, thinking, dressing as a silhouette, gorging, arguing, petting small animals, washing my hands, pontificating upon the classics, engaging in ritualistic chants, or running, I'm usually running in place. When I'm not running in place I usually spread my time between sitting down and standing up, on a desultory basis.

I'm really good at

Words, wurds, werds, wards, wirds, wyrds, and wwrds. What can I say but that love precipitates understanding, and that nothing of the sublime, the superlative, the consummate - can come without both. You will remember Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch who said, "Cats exercise . . . a magic influence upon highly developed men of intellect." Cats r kewl.

My hands can sing. My fingers dance and the mouths of whales go wild. What can I say. I can elicit a calypso from baleen twins. Eet es all in ze move-a-mahnt! I play the theremin of the soul; let's go swimming through the 4/4. And to think that 10 children dancing makes la musique! :) What a crazy day and age. It's all about the tick and the tock of the touch, step, walk on the 88 keys of heart.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I'm stirring it wrong.

Lissssssssen. Do you hear that? Listen closely, to the timbre of that voice. There is a message in there.

I'm not talking about this. I mean that audio you were just listening to. There is a message in that voice.

Can my eyes trace the messages upon the leaves? Do I perk my ears to descry the elegies on the wind? Am I mesmerized by the arcane fire...Oh ho ho ho...but this is what I'm saying. This is the great, big secret. This! The message on the voice between the wailing strings and the medieval mandolin, this! I shall reveal it plainly now, in no uncertain terms...this...this...this...!!! Hold on, candygram.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm super critical.

The following isn't representative of everything I've experienced: I really appreciate the 'Beatles' and 'Amélie', for example. I just wanted to list things I really LOVE, and would be excited talking about, and with which we might share a common bond. Not everything listed is absolutely perfect in my opinion, but I would argue that it is defensible. I would probably enjoy talking to you about anything that you really love even if its not on this list, provided you actually do love it, which implies you know why you love it, which implies you can express that.

Books: This is too complex for the time being.

6. Oonos is you. To keep things simple we have not set the system up to allow self sent messages.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Philogyny; the differences between the sexes; where the line begins to blur between sex, desire, and love; hoi polloi and the Übermensch (despite never having read Nietzsche); telomeres and the epigenome; space and (the) infinity (of jobs it can create); appreciating 'long-term' effects(on the individual and a society); algorithms; being 'creative' ad hoc; beauty; empathy; sacrifice; elegy; convalescence; my choice of words; 'dumbing down' what I write to appeal to people I probably shouldn't bother trying to appeal to; these boxes; certain zaftig objects of affection; fantastic characters; systems: human, computer, musical, mathematical, lingual; could Korea be the next biggest cultural influence on American since Japan?; the end.

[Thought for food, to be processed in the voice of a character whose name I think is Lloyd]:

As you may be able to tell by any number of elements in my profile, I have a predilection towards the surreal. This is a consequence of no mental pathology, I assure you. Rather, I have been considering lately that one's disposition towards such things may be directly related to the health of one's memory.

For me, to suffer the umpteenth remake or rip-off of any classic or archetype that is ten, twenty, or thirty years old or OLDER - is not to be endured. That story was ONCE original, you know. It's not like we're incapable of creating original stories, or even original FOUNDATIONS for stories, especially considering the surfeit of human beings on this planet (and thus potential artists). The cliché becomes the cliché only by being beaten into the ground again...and again...and again. Give us something fresh!

And yet, one cannot celebrate the new, without first being able to distinguish that it is in fact that - new. In other words, the less one recollects about works past, the less capable they are of gauging the originality of any thing they may encounter in the future.

It goes without saying that one cannot acquire the afore-indicated frames of reference without a proper EXPOSURE to any objet d'art but that is beyond the scope of this thesis. "And if you disagree with me, then you sir, are worse...than Hitlah!"

On a typical Friday night I am

belching. I'm trying to get the intonation of Lloyd? the scientist prince of Britannia in Code Geass right. "Soozaku...it's time to take the Laahhnnseelot out for a test spin, don'tchu think?" ^_^ I'll get his name later. Or you can give it to me if you want.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I've been sentenced to a harlequin's motley for a fortnight.

I weigh five THOUSAND pounds. No joke.

I'm much more open in my journal. If you want to know who I truly am, please check it out here.

You should message me if

You're stirring it wrong. You are passionate about SOMETHING (and by that I mean please God, ANYTHING). I 'speak'(i.e. type) really quickly (apparently REALLY quickly), and I ask questions just as fast. I've been told people "have a hard time keeping up", but they "like that though". So if you're passionate I'm sure we'll enjoy talking to each other.[1] You should also message me if you love talking about yourself and being asked a million questions about yourself, because you can count on me doing so. :)
