Books: Plenty; some of the pivotal and revisited: Rilke (Letters to a Young Poet), Rumi (anything), Jung's Red Book (crazy cool), Machiavelli (don't judge; or, do) with a smattering of Richard Ford, MFK Fisher, Flannery O'Connor.
Movies: way too many but Godfathers I and II, Annie Hall, Network, A Serious Man, Rushmore. I should note, I hated Forrest Gump.
Music: anything that's great quality. Playlists are generally produced between seasons, often include spoken word, and difficult to pigeonhole. I like it that way.
Shows: yes. I should see more than I do.
Food: a passion. Vegan and vegetarian at turns, in the past, I can't deny loving great meat so I don't. Proteins with a happy story always preferred and acquired. Otherwise I'm game to try almost anything, no matter how unfamiliar or textured or scented.
Good company - I love meeting new people, of all sorts. On the whole I believe people are good and share common, common sense interests. Something to learn from nearly everyone; and the ones who keep teaching, intriguing and delighting are consistently in my orbit.
Travel - and the chance to challenge and remap my perspective through environmental/cultural inspiration, whether NYC, Vegas, a national park, anywhere along that majestic alive Pacific, or requiring a passport.
Cowboy boots - as a general rule I have 3 prs on hand. (But more heels.)
Fine spirits - Love a well-timed drink. From the 12-ingredient alchemistry involving droppers, frothers and a hex; to bubbles (always on hand); to whiskey from a flask; to a refreshing, reliable gin and tonic. All good.
Good food - I love to cook it, eat it and seek it out.
When I get all of these wrapped up in one magical span of time, I generally try to extend and deepen that in whatever ways can be dreamt up.
