I love learning new things. I ask a lot of questions, and read a lot of text books. I love knowing how things work. Its super fun when you teach me things, and I've got a few things to teach too.
Self improvement is an important part of my life. I'm always working on getting better in some way: learning new skills, building habits or organizing my life. Sometimes that means building professional skills, or building a regular exercise habit, sometimes it means focusing on personal relationships and practicing empathy skills (Nonviolent Communication).
My hobbies often involve math, diagrams, and academic articles. My book learning often becomes part of my life. For example, I:
- Take vitamin D because I've read the Cochrane meta-analysis on vitamin D and mortality.
- Went from dressing in Khakis and a Polo shirt to dark jeans and a fitted shirt because I learned people judge you based on how you look (who knew?).
- Use spaced repetition to learn things because its the most efficient way to remember things.
Bouldering is like solving math problems with your body, which I find very satisfying. I also love to dance to electronic music by myself or with other people.
Direct and honest communication makes life lovely. I'm GGG, and thinking about poly. I identify as Feminist and I'm part of the Effective Altruist community.
