My self-summary
Hello! I've lived all over the US and spend a lot of time traveling, but live in Orlando currently. I love that there is always a new festival, hole-in-the-wall restaurant, art walk, or stranger to meet. I enjoy people with varying degrees of likeness to myself. I've spent many nights forgoing sleep for the chance to discuss a topic with someone who has the exact opposite viewpoint. Same goes for traveling and allowing myself to be absorbed into other cultures. If that wasn't a part of my upbringing I'd be a lesser person. I often think I am right and will tell you so with conviction, but I enjoy those that can prove me wrong or open me up to a new way of thinking/viewing something. I hope to find someone that continually challenges me, is open to continuous learning and desires closeness despite the change that comes as time goes by. And if we are going to "fit" so to speak, you'll need to be silly, a bit serious and a lot spontaneous. I plan to explore the world and have a heck of a time doing it!

Randomness:
I like to be around people that are childlike, but not childish.
I mentor an amazing little girl through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
I haven't had cable in over ten years; I often miss pop culture references.
I think beer tastes better in America than in Germany. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it.
I think people who start most sentences with "I" are likely selfish jerks.
I sing and dance all the time because music makes life better.
I leave the US at least three times a year; traveling helps me better understand myself and humans in general.
I think Stanley Kubrick, Danny Boyle and Wes Anderson are so class.

I really just want to continue enjoying life. I'd love to find a partner that wants the same - the spontaneous moments of fun, random silliness, sometimes seriousness and constant connectedness. If that sounds good, send me an email! If we don't hit it off romantically, maybe we will as friends.

Cheers!
I’m really good at
Reading people well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music that is made of win: Radiohead, Angus and Julia Stone, Ben Kweller, Sea Wolf, Elliot Smith, Old Crow Medicine Show, Beirut, Elbow, Imogen Heap, Ray LaMontagne, Regina Spektor, Paolo Nutini, Fiona Apple, Fun., Elton John, Jose Gonzalez, The Black Keys, A Tribe Called Quest, Margot & The Nuclear So and So's, Ella Fitzgerald, Of Monsters and Men, Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, Iron & Wine, City & Colour...I could go on and on. I love jazz, classical, folk; even opera and Broadway tunes make me happy. Good music is good music.

Movies I watch again and again: Meet the Feebles, Heavenly Creatures, The Goonies, Empire Records, Once, Amelie, 28 Days Later, Rushmore, Full Metal Jacket, The Usual Suspects, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Pan's Labyrinth, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Labyrinth, The Silence of the Lambs, Leon: The Professional, American History X, The Big Lebowski, The Princess Bride, Shaun of the Dead, Office Space, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I love Hitchcock and old Disney (Bedknobs and Broomsticks!) flicks, all the Peanuts movies and anything that makes you feel good or think long after the movie ends.

Authors/Books to get lost in: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and all Lewis Carroll books/poetry/puzzles, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Fahrenheit 451, Oscar Wilde (perhaps more for his lifestyle than his actual writings), Kurt Vonnegut (especially Mother Night), Roald Dahl, Dr. Seuss (serious genius), Bill Watterson, The Road, Fight Club, The Secret Garden...

Food: I love to eat! Love. Love. Love. But I am a vegetarian. Oh no!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How my loved ones are right this second. Why history repeats itself. Ideas for my next book, song, piece of artwork. Why people still propose with diamond rings. Whether I will regret not doing or not saying something if I die tomorrow. Why people stay in jobs/relationships/situations that make them unhappy. Where to go on my next trip. How different I would be if I had lived in the same town my entire childhood. Why it is harder to make friends as an adult than as a child. Why people (generally speaking) are so easily corrupted once they have power. Why it is hard for some people to be open and honest, especially in business settings. How funny it sounds when people say, "I need to go to the ATM machine". Queen Hatshepsut; she was bad-ass. Why religion often causes pain and suffering. Why some people fall so easily while others have never been in love. How someone can logically argue that the government should regulate who I can marry. How today is the youngest you and I will ever be.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't own an umbrella. Please don't share that; I don't know what I'd do if that circled the internet.

You love life! And you actually live it!

Also, I like meeting people and making connections. If you are interested in just being friends that's totally cool, shoot me an email. My job has me traveling often. Right now I am in Dallas, Atlanta, NYC, Boston, DC, Philly and Minneapolis a whole heck of a lot. If you live in one of these fine cities and want to grab a cup of tea/coffee and chit chat about life, let me know. I will let you know when I will be in a town near you.
