My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I can't shake my romantic notion that the best part of the rest of my life is tucked away in one magical profile despite experience to the contrary. Romantic notions aside, I'm not sure if a website is where I am going to meet a man with whom to spend a lifetime. Not for lack of trying, though (I don't like giving up).

I'm a sensitive person; intelligent, humorous, sometimes shy but most of the time not, adventurous, a great communicator, with a level of integrity that seems rare these days. Don't take that to mean I'm stuffy or straight-laced. It simply means I would not be a "successful" politician.

I chose not to practice law in the conventional sense. Instead, I use my skills for good instead of evil by guiding wily employees and irascible management in navigating their way through labor and employment law. My career has always brought me tremendous satisfaction and working as a strategist/consultant is now leading me on a new and exciting journey.

A man with boyish charm is always attractive to me. A man who "gets it." A taller man so that I don't have to give up my heels. A man who has a nicely developed sense of style and smells really good. If you have children, they are grown, financially and emotionally independent, and not still front and center in your life. You would be the George to my Gracie, the Popeye to my Olive Oyl, the Clyde to my Bonnie, the Fred to my Ginger, the Bogie to my Bacall, the yang to my yin, the key to my skates. You get the idea...

If you enjoy flea markets, farmers markets, bike rides, theatre, long walks, can handle a monogamous relationship, like rock and phil concerts, traveling to places near and far, Home Depot, a dynamite physical attraction, people watching, movies in or out, dinner out or in, being home relaxing, the ocean, good restaurants and holes in the wall, jeans and sweatshirts, we should talk.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
- Continually developing my niche HR/LR consulting practice
- Occasional volunteering in helping children learn to read
- Getting my Schwinn Beach Cruiser tuned up and ready to roll!
- Beginning to get into gardening
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Spelling
- Reading people - it's what makes me good at my job
- Keeping secrets
- Watching movies without talking the entire time
- Not just listening but actually hearing what people say
- Mediating adversarial situations into calm ones
- Avoiding cooking (not so subtle, was that)
- Finding humor in almost everything
- Making a good relationship even better... wink ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look younger than I am. Really. My blue eyes? My smile? I don't know so I'll ask you when we meet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read magazines, trade journals, quasi-self help books which tend to be business related. Many classics while in school. I also read the newspaper, the back of the cereal box, the internet, instructions, and I collect lots of different books for "when I have time" although I don't have enough shelves. On my nightstand? The No Asshole Rule (pertains to the work place, not web dating), Loving What Is, How Starbuck's Saved My Life, Vanity Fair, the LA Times. Nearby? Piles of books just begging to be read.

I love movies, theatre, jazz, and comedy clubs. As for music, you'll lose me for a couple of minutes when "Maggie May" is playing. I'm an oldies type - Beatles, Stones, Eagles, Jefferson Starship, Black Sabbath, Woodstock album, McCartney, Clapton, and brace yourself - Manilow! - but I also enjoy jazz, R&B, classical, bluegrass, big bands, three piece ensembles, some ethnic music, good hip-hop, and occasionally, new country music. I also love to hear a really great high school or college marching band, especially the drum corp. I live very near the end of the Rose Parade so our neighborhood gets overrun with cars and people and we get to see and hear it all up close! It's a great time of year around here.

As for food, I'm not into terribly exotic menus. I cannot choose my dinner if it's still alive during the selection process. My mother always told me that if I was hungry enough, I'd eat anything (this conversation seemed to circle around tomatoes when I was young). I still think she's wrong although I now eat tomatoes. I will not eat things that have wings (as in flying bugs cooked on a stick), eyes, suction cups, heads, or innards still attached, food so spicy that it makes my eyes water and my nose run and renders my taste buds useless for three days, or most foods I can't pronounce. Yes, yes, I know. Bor-ing. You, however, are welcome to dig in and I'll sit and watch your eyes water and your nose run. I love that look in a man.

Movies? The King's Speech, Casablanca, Bridge over the River Kwai, The Social Network, The President, The Hurt Locker, Erin Brockovich, The Italian Job (remake), The Hangover, The Endless Summer (even if you don't surf, it's worth seeing), Shreck, The Heiress, Schindler's List, The Day the Earth Stood Still (original), Devil Wears Prada, Inglorious Basterds, Marx Brothers, Jimmy Stewart, Hitchcock, happy movies, some chick flicks, a few animated movies, sad movies, some scary movies, TCN, dramas, laugh-til-it-hurts movies, who-done-its, thought provoking movies, silly movies, all types of documentaries - too many to list.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Frequent visits to San Francisco
- A warm hand to hold mine
- Fun and/or interesting places to go
- The constant challenge of my career
- My family, friends, and neighbors
- My silly dog
- Naps on a rainy afternoon
- My front porch

Um, was that more than six?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Whether our country will EVER recover and who it will take to make it happen (certainly not politicians)
- What color to paint my walls. (This will be a lifelong project, I fear)
- How I will spend my lottery winnings when I finally win.
- Where that frog is so that I can give him a smooch and turn him into my prince.
- How truly fortunate I am in so many, many respects.
- Finding the perfect shade of red lipstick.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
- Mostly at home but sometimes dating, or shopping, at a movie, strolling through Olde Town Pasadena, sitting at a busy coffee house watching the people go by...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I definitely plead the 5th...

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You are a nice Jewish boy (culturally but not practicing is fine). Not Jewish could be OK as long as you are not committed to another religion. I wouldn't convert and I wouldn't expect it from you either.

- You never use "lol" when writing ANYTHING! You don't use the word "amazing" or "awesome" to describe EVERYTHING! Nothing can be that amazing unless John Lennon comes back from the dead and is standing right in front of you singing "Imagine." Only THEN can you get away with saying "awesome!"

- You are kind, sexy, funny, loving, easy to talk to, have a very healthy, natural libido, and you like to hold hands.

- You like family, dogs, cats, and you enjoy travel.

- You have a photo posted. It's a rare exception when I'll communicate with someone whose face is not on their profile.
