My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’m originally from Montreal Canada. I moved to San Diego for University and then to the Bay Area and I’ve been here ever since. There are definitely things I miss about Montreal (I still have reoccurring dreams about Montreal bagels – don’t get me started New Yorkers!) but standing at the bus stop in a snow storm is not one of them.

I would describe myself as introspective (in the true sense of the word – not shy). I do have some geek tendencies when it comes to film or electronics. I consider myself to be a social person – especially with small groups. I prefer and genuinely enjoy long intimate meaningful conversations with a few people as opposed to getting lost in a large party.

Ok, I guess this is where I try to throw out some personality traits that helps to define who I am .. I would describe myself as being bright, affectionate, innately curious about absolutely everything, detail oriented, analytical, empathetic, altruistic, compassionate, very communicative and open about my feelings, understanding, quiet at times, genuine and honest, very socially liberal and open minded. Since I have answered a rather large numbers of questions in the “two of us” section, with complete honesty and careful thought, you should be able to get a good sense of my core beliefs and general attitude by checking those out.

This is my full disclosure section, where I state all the things that may be a deal breaker for you.
1. I have very little interest in organized sports. I enjoy playing them (racquetball, tennis, golf (very badly though), any sport really) but I do not particularly enjoy watching or following them. Although, If you want to go, I would happily accompany you with a smile as I will be looking forward to the brats and beer at the stadium :)
2. I have 2 cats. They are not going anywhere in the near future so you must like or be indifferent to cats and not be allergic.
3. I have 1 daughter who is almost 20. She currently lives with me while she finishes up university.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I currently work as a Business Systems Analyst for a mid-sized semiconductor company. And yes, it is as exciting as it sounds (sarcasm intended). Although I can’t honestly say I “love” my job, there are certain aspects that I do enjoy. I have also been lucky enough to work consistently with a great group of people and that really is what It’s all about when all is said and done.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
people watching - I can do it for hours. And cooking anything and everything.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Although I do enjoy reading a good book, I have not done much very recently as I tend to do a lot of “ritin and readin” at work and I am kind of not in the mood for more when I get home. Hopefully that will change in the future. However, here are a few books I’ve read not too long ago that I really enjoyed: Zombie Space Ship Wasteland: A book by Patton Oswalt (this is not what it may sound like), almost anything by David Sedaris (Me Talk Pretty One Day, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, Barrel Fever, etc), almost anything by Christopher Moore (The Stupidest Angel, A Dirty Job, Island of the Sequined Love Nun, etc.), The Nasty Bits and Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain (he is the epitome of cool), countless Science Fiction books including a good portion of all the short story Hugo winners.

I love quality standup comedy. If they can make me laugh out loud then they are on my list. Here is a short list of a few comedians who I have the highest respect for (in terms of their comedy): Louis CK, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Maria Bamford and David Cross.

In regards to music, I would not describe myself as an “audiophile”- there is no band/artist that I follow and automatically buy their next CD. I have my general likes and they are all over the place. Also, it’s not so much the band/artist but more the song. I listen to music almost every day because of how it makes me feel and what I listen to is very dependent on my mood. The last concert I went to was Jack White in Ashford Oregon.

Film has always been one of my main interests. I think I could have completed a minor in film while completing my Computer Science degree if I had taken a few more classes .. as a result, I tended to “hang” with the communications/film crowd – they were a whole lot more interesting than the computer science crowd ;) A few directors whos work I generally enjoy - Coen Brothers, Wes Andersen, Paul Thomas Anderson, Christopher Nolan.

I don’t watch much TV. Although, there are a few series that I will go out of my way to watch: Breaking Bad (best TV writing in the past 20 years - RIP), Game of Thrones and House of Cards. If Anthony Bourdain (As previously stated - the epitome of cool) has something on the Food channel then I’m in. And the main Comedy Central shows - Colbert, Daily Show and my current favorite, Inside Amy Schumer.

I have a genuine love of food – particularly cooking. One of my favorite things to do is find several recipes, make them my own and spend a solid Sunday cooking all of it. And I will eat absolutely anything. Indian and Afghani food is at the top of my list.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, whether this site is the best place to find the right person to share my life with, what restaurant to visit next or the next recipe to cook, work/job and of course Montreal bagels..
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sometimes its out at a pub or dinner with a friend or catching up with my daughter. But other times its as mundane as finishing up some work or cooking and/or cleaning and/or watching a movie and doing absolutely nothing (and feeling good about it).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really passionately (now you know what I'm passionate about ..) hate circuses and clowns.
