My self-summary
To be fully up front, I am in a non-exclusive primary relationship. We enjoy, um, extra-curricular activities with women, so if you may be interested please do let us know. Also I may be available for friends with benefits or play partners on my own, with the full blessing of my partner. I'm always game for chatting and meeting friends though.

I’m an INTJ (maybe an E on a good day), and am an open-minded, flexible and strategic problem-solver. An introvert by nature, I can be reserved when first meeting people or in unfamiliar situations. But if the chemistry is right, I’ll thrive on your positive energy and reflect it right back.

And I’m unconventional, with little use for traditions or social norms that don’t make sense to me (a common INTJ trait, I understand). In relationships, that’s translated into my being accepting of all of their forms, from traditional to open, and variations in between.

I have a passion for knowledge and learning. I’m fairly geeky, being into video games and general computer nerdery, music, cooking (love Good Eats!). Lest you think that I’m all cerebral, I’m also into health and fitness and work out regularly, and enjoy biking and swimming. That said I am bored to tears by watching TV sports, aside from Ninja Warrior. And I’ve started doing my own spirits infusions – I’ve done good vanilla rum, lime infused tequila, and the apple cinnamon rum is a hit.

In my relationships, friendly and particularly romantic, I’m supporting and encouraging. I’m on a positive path in life, with a great career. Yet I also have an edgy side (obvious only when I want to reveal it) and I’m always looking to find boundaries and gently nudge them, my own and my partner’s.

And I have a darker aesthetic, with an allergy to cutesy or vapidly popular. My sense of humor is witty, often dry and sarcastic, and definitely twisted; I think evil but don't act on it. Often. ;)
What I’m doing with my life
I originally moved out to DC to pursue my dream jobs in international relations, like many who came here. And I feel like I've been extraordinarily fortunate with all the amazing opportunities I've had so far. I’ve lived on both coasts (and was surprised to find I loved oceans). I've experienced the surreal and incredible life while serving a year in the Baghdad Green Zone, stood on Nebuchadnezzar II’s throne, scrambled up the Ziggurat of Ur. I’ve traveled to nigh half the world with plans to see the rest; Ireland (done!), Japan and New Orleans (also done!).
I’m really good at
Many things I put my mind to it seems. Spelling is one majer exception to that. Guitar is also proving pernicious.
The first things people usually notice about me
People often remark that I look much younger than I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
With school, my days of reading for leisure are on hiatus. I dimly recall reading things like the The Song of Ice and Fire series, Dresden Files, American Gods, Guns, Germs and Steel, the Cryptonomicon, A Clockwork Orange, the Name of the Rose, Freakonomics and other non-school books at some point in the past.

Movies: Avengers, Captain America, Usual Suspects, V for Vendetta, Blade Runner, Charlie Wilson's War, Mystery Men, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Princess Bride, and the Road Warrior. I also have soft spots for martial arts films, medieval and ancient epics and silly spoof comedies.

TV: Vikings, Hell on Wheels, Archer, True Blood, Game of Thrones & Dr Who. Former favorites include Venture Bros, IT Crowd, Rome, Babylon 5, Legend of the Seeker, Sports Night, Forever Knight, and Brisco County Jr.

Music speaks to me – it’s often how I relate to my emotions. My tastes vary widely from industrial, like NIN, Ministry & Rammstein, and metal, like Metallica & Rob Zombie on the heavy end. In the middle there are bands like Duran Duran, New Model Army, She Wants Revenge, Garbage & Gogol Bordello. And on the softer end there is Sarah Mclachlan, Dead Can Dance, Sarah Brightman & Depeche Mode. About the only genres I really avoid are country (aside from Johnny Cash) and Xtian.

Cheese is the center of my diet. Even though I'm aiming to not eat meat as much, I'm still firmly an omnivore who will adventurously eat nearly 'anything without a drivers license'.

Bonus: Video games - The Witcher, Psychonaughts, American McGee's Alice, Fallout series, Portal, Quest for Glory series, and Deus Ex.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
National security and foreign policy. Planning my next adventure. How to escape to a beach or visit my next set of ancient ruins. How cognition plays a role in politics and decision making.
On a typical Friday night I am
Maybe out enjoying drinks with friends and avoiding crowds, at a 80’s or goth dance night where I some of the regulars, catching a concert, at a burlesque or belly dance show, or at even wilder events. Or perhaps staying in and relaxing from a long week by watching a movie or playing video games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoy eating citrus fruits peel and all.

You think a reasonably fit, geeky guy with an adventurous streak is your type? I try to take the approach of finding awesome people and then seeing what may happen.

You're well rounded, making a difference in their world in some way. You're vibrant with a joie de vivre, a touch of the madcap, or even fun crazy. You're smart, at least a bit intellectual, and are healthy and take care of yourself. I don't need skinny, but, to be blunt, fat rolls are unattractive. You're into sexy, but classy. And you'd probably better think that my geeky and nerdy side is at least cute, if not a turn on. Bonus points for redheads, hourglass curves, cosplay or dressing up (skirts are amazing!) or being a bit kick ass.

Also, I’m not a fan of monogamy – though I understand its potential for stability, I’ve always felt that it reflected insecurity and possessiveness. But on the other hand, I’m not comfortable with wild abandon, as what my partner may do can raise risks for me. So I think I’m in a middle ground somewhere – say mutually agreed ‘extra-curricular’ activities…?
