Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Everybody says they have a hard time describing themselves, I like
to think it comes naturally. People are more or less afraid to
compliment themselves. I'm a boisterous, funny, and generally
likable person. I go out of my way to try and make the world a
better place to be and I like to picture myself the intellectual
cross between Leonard for sweetness and Sheldon for aloofness on
the Big Bang Theory.
I prefer to keep my religious views largely to myself. I'm a
scientific liberal metaphysical Catholic. I used to have a more
convoluted explanation, but suffice to say I believe in evolution
& I'm pro-choice to the hilt.
I'm a loving person in all honesty, a true and hopeless optimist, I
don't get down like some people do, nothing is able to stop me from
my appointed rounds, I am a metaphysical postman making his rounds
and if that is off-putting, I understand, but it is who I am and
what I do with my life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finishing my PhD in Political Science at UNO. I'm wrapping up my
last month (finishing early august) with an overnight job with the
state in law enforcement. From there, I'll be working as a
Professor for UNO and writing my prospectus. In other words: Right
now I'm semi-busy and then I'll be free to have functional dates
and fun times with people.
Update: Put in my two weeks notice for the end as of August 3rd.
The happiness is increasing exponentially.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Teaching, seriously, it's what I do.
Winning arguments about politics
Writing, but sadly only non-fiction. All my imagination juice is
being used up right now in other areas.
Getting to the gym, lost over 100 lbs in 3 years.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I never ask people but I'm remembered everywhere I go. I attribute
it to my size but everybody insists it's my pleasant demeanor and

I've been able to get back to reading fiction for the first time in
almost a decade because of the overnight work. I'm a fan of mystery
and thrillers but I've promised myself to read the top-100 most
attempted to be banned books before I die and attempt to read the
classics along the way. I've just only started but I'll be sure to
update with what I like besides Hemingway later on.
Movies: Inception, Robocop, Saving Private Ryan, Clue: The Movie,
and Johnny Dangerous (I just realized I think this is the movie
I've seen the most times in my life besides maybe Back to the
Future trilogy) ...The list goes on but I tend to prefer comedies
over mindless action films. The Back To the Future Trilogy are some
of my favorite films of all time. I would truly enjoy owning a
delorean sometime in my life.
Also if you've ever seen the Phantom of the Paradise we should
chat. I'm thinking of getting the owl mask from that movie just so
I can have an excuse for halloween dress up. :D
Music: I tend to live on alt nation on Sirius/XM - punk rock, top
40. Naming bands is not my forte but I'll try since all the cool
kids seem to do it. Rancid, op ivy, the distillers, sleigh bells,
the eels, garbage, be your own pet, Florence + the machine, Lady
GaGa...really the list goes on but I feel cool enough now.
Food: I'm adventurous, I'll try anything once.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This space either makes you seem vacuous or seem like you're trying
to hard. The more I read them the more I hate this space. But let's
try and make me sound like neither.
Vehicle to getaway in
Books - preferably the good variety
Good people - I used to list friends, but really I just care about
being around good people. They'll be friends by virtue of their
Memories - Good, bad, ugly, they're mine and I can't imagine ever
regretting a thing in my life.
Life - both the cereal and the concept! Once you've stopped living
it for a while you realize how much you miss it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What kind of life am I leading? Am I being the person I want to
As an aside, I also mull over the future I have in this realm of
existence, who will I spend it with, how can I impact it for the
better, and when will I know.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading, flat out. Nothing special. I probably am watching Youtube
while I grade if I'm not reading. I've developed a few reliable
board gaming friends. I'm sadly the most pathetic person for bars
and clubs. I can't hear very well in loud places so it makes
understanding other people near impossible. I'm more a coffee shop
type of guy anyways.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I had a date with somebody who died hours after I saw them. It's
weird for me and sad in so many ways because the loss of a life is
always tragic. Either way, it's something that I think about time
to time, it's nothing to worry about though, I just feel like it's
something to be honest about.

PS: I know most people won't read down to this level but as the
internet seems to bring about more anonymity in an unhealthy
fashion I do reply to all messages regardless of my personal level
of interest if only to be polite. I picture this place as a giant
sidewalk where if you were to say hello I should atleast be obliged
to reply back with a pleasantry. Call it a pet peeve.
