My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
[thesis statement about my personality and relationship goals]

I like tooo dooo

indoorsy things like cooking, watching movies, sitting on the couch with a book and a cuppa

outdoorsy things like hiking, biking, traveling

community-oriented things like volunteering and politicking

cultural/funsy things like museums, traveling, going to plays, seeing standup

I have a lot of time and energy but not a lot of discipline so I don't really have hobbies that require work, save for cooking, because you always get food at the end.

I am most attracted to people who live with energy, purpose, and conviction. Being interested in the world is also very important. I mainly want to find someone smart and fun and kind and who will get a drink with me.

I'm committed to self improvement and having a healthy body and mind. I try to stay down to earth and honest. I like to think that my innermost self is gentle, warm, and non-cynical.

I do not circle jerk about loving Portland, its liberals, or its weirdness. At the same time, I do not roll my eyes or furrow my brow at religion or New Agey woo-woo stuff. My sense of humor can be described as constant; It's the lens through which I see the world. [something funny to prove my point]

I care deeply about social justice and changing oppressive systems and I really need someone who feels the same way, even if it's not their main focus.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Figuring things out day to day.

Oh right! Work!

I'm currently working as a community educator/organizer in SE. Mostly I talk to renters about how to weatherize their homes and conserve energy. It's awesome.

That makes me sound super handy... I am not. I can wield a hammer. I will not try to talk to you about your furnace.

....even though you should think about it more often. Do you want to replace it in 5 years??

Prior to doing this I worked in queer politics.

Eventually I would like to go back to doing something more political/transformative, albeit outside the realm of campaigns.

Currently saving all my money 4 travel.

Etc.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
disarmingly little. Writing, funny storytelling, conversation in general. Analyzing. Starting hobbies. Making a fool of myself. Community education. Cooking chicken.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Red hair.
Also that I apparently look like jailbait to most people. Not getting carded always makes my night.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I really hate conversations that start with 'what is your favorite...' Or 'what kind of x do you like?' Let that happen organically. But here's a few lists:

Food: I have some recently imposed, medically necessary dietary restrictions (no wheat, dairy, or sugar). It's been a major adjustment because I love to cook and eat... mostly wheat, dairy, and sugar. But I am finding that all the delicious other things can make up a satisfying diet. Various Asian cuisines are really coming through for me right now. I cook lots of fresh vegetables and meat.

Movies: Little Miss Sunshine, The Reader, Never Let Me Go, An Education, Fargo, Pleasantville, Philadelphia, Milk, Les Miserables, Zoolander, Bridesmaids, Practical Magic, Forrest Gump, Titanic, It's a Wonderful Life, Lion King, Y Tu Mama Tambien, 1776, The Patriot (in spite of myself), Angela's Ashes, Juno, Doubt, It's Complicated, Atonement, The Good Girl, Persepolis, etc.

Yes, I really liked Fury Road.

Shows: 30 Rock (holding on in spite of everything), Modern Family, Parks & Rec, West Wing, The Mindy Project, Downton Abby, Jon Stewart, Inside the Actors Studio, Law & Order: SVU, Daria, Wishbone.

Books/plays: At the moment I am switching between an 800-page novel, an oral history of gentrification, and one of Khalil Gibran's books of poetry.

The Normal Heart, The Rabbit Hole, Equus, The Dollhouse, American Grace, any and all historical fiction from my childhood, Bossypants, Eloise, The Age of Innocence, Tale of Two Cities, An American Wife, Harry Potter, Gilead, anything David Sedaris, White Protestant Nation, I Have Come to Stay and Fight, Revolutionary Road, John Adams, The Believers, Animal Farm, Imagining Transgender, The Complete Persepolis, Middlesex, etc. I do more non-fiction.

I like a lot of music, especially rock in various forms, particularly classic. I like a lot of women singing over pianos. I unironically (but somewhat apologetically) love hokey 90's country music. It's just so simple and heartfelt.

Joni: Blue
Boss: The River (with a little Darkness)
Beatles: Abbey Road
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
laughter
books
tea
travel
good conversation
the fam
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Politics, social justice, feminism, one-liners, books I want to read, how to tell the next story, if and when I will ever have respectable decorations in my apartment and not just the note someone once left on my dashboard that said "you're a dick learn how to park."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am usually out with the same group of people. Sometimes I stay in to read.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

We have a good match score (silly, but they are useful). You are within the age range. You don't have kids. Your pictures accurately represent your current facial hair situation.
More importantly: You have something to say. You are passionate about something! You are a progressive and a feminist.
