My self-summary
Hi there.

I'm trying to meet new people by expanding out of my existing social circles. The Internet seems to be a pretty good medium for that.

I've got a bit of a geeky side, but I'm pretty good at hiding it.

Most of the time I'm pretty laid back, but if something gets my interest enough, I can get rather intense about things.

I've got a well developed sense of humour and am either quick of wit or typically hang out with people who are rather dull. Making people laugh and smile makes me smile too.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working at a nonprofit organization. I get to solve/help solve some pretty interesting problems that have varying degrees of impact to peoples' health and safety. I really like it and feel that there's a lot of room to grow!

I'm also kind of trying to figure out what I want to do with my life next. Anyway, I want to do more travelling and more outdoorsy stuff with my life. Looking for someone to gallivant with.

I'm a pretty slender dude, but I'm trying to fix that--but not in a manner where I'm eating sticks of butter. In a healthy/fitness oriented way.
I’m really good at
Trying too hard at things. I'm working on it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I get a lot of compliments on my voice. I don't see the big deal, but I guess it sounds different in my head
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I like to treat my reading experiences as escapism, so I typically gravitate to the fantastical and futuristic. That being said, my bookshelf is also full of political philosophies that I read a long time ago, George Orwell, a mid-century French existentialist novel, and books about primates.

Movies: Often exciting comedies with good writing. Ghostbusters is the best film ever made.

Shows: I enjoy things humourous and informative. So: Community, Archer, Better Off Ted, various documentaries, How it's Made.

Music: Rather eclectic, but I always seem to go back to grunge/post-grunge. And Led Zeppelin. Also jazz.

Food: I'll eat almost anything, but I'm a big fan of cheeses and the dishes they go into (Grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese)
The six things I could never do without
Cast iron cookware.
Good quality beer.
Laughter.
Halfway decent grammar.
High fives.
Background noise (like music). I'm not a big fan of absolute quiet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How that if I had a nickel for every time I bought vanilla yoghurt instead of plain yoghurt, I probably could have accidentally purchased a thing of vanilla instead of plain by now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Typically one or more of the following: Beers at a pub, board games on a table, guitars in a basement, whisky in a garage, walking under one or more moons.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't swim. Though I may also be a bad student and/or physically predisposed to sinking.
