I am tall, unassuming, and droll.

My Self-Summary

I'm seeking a fellow traveler. One who understands the difference between a traveler and a tourist. Travelers know that our plans are Spirit's greatest source of laughter, are at ease being lost, and being their own tour guide. I've been separated for five years, will be getting divorced soon, and seek a fellow adventurer.

My kids grew up with the internet; I’m adjusting to building relationships in this new frontier. My children laugh and say upsetting things, "Dad, your a web designer, can't you figure this out?" Their looks of disappointment sadden me. I am from a world of face-to-face transactions, not blurry pictures and profiles.

I prefer music in small venues, like the World Café and the Keswick, and doubt I'll ever see Dave Mathews in concert. Large crowds are for soccer and football, not for music. If I can't see the chords they're playing, with a few exceptions, I'll pass. I also prefer soccer games to football.

My whole family cooks and many are chefs. My favorite place to shop is the farm I work at, Trader Joe's, and 9th Street.

Between being at peace with one’s self and working through our lives, pure magic exists, the comfort of a shoulder to lean on, a hug to share, a partnership in being human.

What I’m doing with my life

A continuing home improvement project on being human

I’m really good at

Seeing past the obvious and objectively hearing the whole story.

The first things people usually notice about me

Eyes, height, and smile

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Vonnegut, Rand, Ruiz, Myss, LeGuin, Kosinski, oh heavens there's too many to list.
Movies: Harold and Maude, Brazil, Matrix, Amélie, Being There, Beyond Rangoon, Powder, Memento, Casablanca, Holy Grail, Rocky Horror, La Fille sur le Pont,...
Music: Eclectic range far from the mainstream. I tend towards triphop, swamp boogie, and acoustic. I can't take rap, barely tolerate country, and not a big fan of opera. If it plays on a Clear Channel radio station, I've probably not heard it and most likely won't like it unless it was AA or classic rock.
Food: Opportunistic Omnivore

The six things I could never do without

Air, water, food, shelter, clothing, my extended family, and my iPod - just the essentials to stay alive although not always in that order. I know I listed seven things but I have difficulties with arbitrary and capricious rules. Why six things? If I listed only six I would choose between my iPod and clothing; that's so climate dependent. Plus an an iPod without a pocket would be troublesome to hold all day.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Integrating the spiritual and physical aspects of life

On a typical Friday night I am

Going to bed early to run a farmer's market on Saturday

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have no tool set to deal with neo-con evangelists or severely mentally ill people.

You should message me if

you're not a neo-con evangelist and figure out the messaging thingy
