I am introverted, intuitive, and thinking.
My Self-Summary
I am an introvert. Don't get me wrong, though -- I'm a balanced
person that functions well in social settings. I just happen to do
my best work when I'm alone. I would say that the only thing that
sets me apart from anyone else is a healthy respect for personal
space and maybe a little bit of ADD. Lately, though, I've noticed
that all of this being alone is making me lonely. That's not
cool.
Generally speaking, I have a lot of faith in the
Myers-Briggs
personality types. Multiple tests have told me that I'm either
an INTJ or an INFJ: both ambitious, self-confident, deliberate,
long-range thinkers. If this interests you, Google it! It fits me
pretty much perfectly and can be really useful when trying to
understand how a person operates.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm commuting to West Chester University every day so that I can
finish my Bachelor's degree post-haste. I plan on going to Graduate
School for either
psychology or
law, and an asinine part of me actually
thinks it would be fun to get a PhD. I have worked in a veterinary
emergency room for the last three years, and I like it very much
despite the fact that I never (EVER) want to be a
veterinarian.
It is very easy for me to feel like I'm stagnating, so I need a job
that really challenges me and makes me think. Quality of life is
more important to me than salary, but I would like to build my own
house one day (maybe an Earthship-type thing so there won't be any
utility bills).
I’m really good at
I recently read some things about
handwriting analysis, and
have turned it into one of my favorite hobbies. I'm in the process
of writing a proposal to see if a professor would be willing to
supervise me doing my own
research on the topic. I think that it
is incredibly accurate, and if nothing else, it makes a great party
trick!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Reading is one of
my favorite things to do. Therefore, it stands to reason that any
list of my favorite books would be way too long to actually include
here.
The Bell
Jar by Silvia Plath is my favorite book of the moment. I'm also
a huge
Anne Rice
fan, although she did turn into a religious freak not too long
ago.
As much as I love
watching movies, I haven't seen
most of the movies that everyone else in the world has seen (such
as Rocky or the Godfather). Basically, this means that I suck at
recognizing pop culture references. Ebay and cheap used movies from
the mall are helping me remedy the situation, but it's a process. I
really like thought-provoking movies like Schindler's List,
Silkwood, and V for Vendetta. I also love movies with lots of
gratuitous violence, like Resident Evil and Underworld
series.
Music kind of goes
hand-in-hand with my literary tastes; listing everything I enjoy
would be impossible. Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, and the
Rolling Stones are on the
classic rock end of the spectrum.
Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan, Sinead O'Connor, and Traci Chapman
are on the other. Vampire Weekend, Flogging Molly, and their
alternative
music contemporaries are somewhere in the middle.
Food is important to
me, but not as much as the rest of what I just wrote about.
Depending on my mood I literally like everything except pork and
fish. Even that changes, but I feel that if you really care about
my eating habits, you'll send me a message.
The six things I could never do without
1) The ability to read
2) Books.
3) The ability to hear
4) Lady Gaga.
5) The ability to drink
6) Tea.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I like to spend hours and hours trying to figure out how people
think. Because people are really fucked up, you know?
On a typical Friday night I am
Working all night. I do overnight shifts because there is a really
nice pay incentive to do so, meaning I only really need to do one
per week (leaving the rest of my weekend open). Sometimes I pick up
extra hours in a futile attempt at saving some money, but I usually
just bum around with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a very serious fear of life being mundane and boring, so I
spend a lot of time daydreaming about what it would be like if I
lived in a
Quentin Terantino movie or an
Anne Rice novel.
That's not all that private, though; the part that is private and
makes me look like a huge freak of nature is that I actually teach
myself the skills I think would be necessary to survive in such a
fantasy world. I've taught myself to pick locks, throw knives,
analyze handwriting, and a number of other fun and interesting
things. While I'm actually quite sane and don't utilize these
skills in everyday life, knowing that I can if I have to makes me
feel moderately awesome. Besides, if I got a job with the FBI, they
wouldn't have to train me very much. Then, when the zombie
apocalypse hits on the winter solstice of 2012, I'll be ready to
fight my way out as one of the lone survivors.
You should message me if
you want to meet someone as blindingly awesome as I am. Just don't
forget to bring a good pair of sunglasses ;)
